I am a little concerned about my knees. I have suffered from arthritis in them (in remission) but as yet they haven't completely flared up with the running. I know in the past they would have done.
I wear support on the worst one. I am being careful, I'm just worried that I'm being foolish running, but I think it's really good for my hips, bone density and mental health!
Anyone else running with arthritis?
I am repeating week one just to have a really slow build up!

If you follow the advice in the guide to the plan on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises then running will in time strengthen your bones and the supporting muscles making for stronger knees.
My knees were my reason for never running until I suddenly decided to do C25k 10 weeks ago, for the same reasons, especially bone density.
I honestly expected to give up at the end of week 2, having proved to myself it was impossible for me to run. As it turned out, my knees were tired and achy, but not painful, after the runs in the first 3 weeks, and then I have forgotten about them! I have just got in from doing my 3rd consolidation run, and I am enjoying it more than I expected to.
I know we are not all the same, but hopefully it will keep getting better for you like it did for me. Best wishes with it.
Thank you for the encouraging replies! I love the good feeling and positive attitude i have after running so dont want my knees to be a reason to not continue. I'm glad there is evidence to show I should carry on , i will just be careful.
