Hi,everyone, just joined the group and reading the posts really feel for those suffering with fatigue, something fortunately I have never had with P.M.R..I do however get flare ups with SEVERE pain mainly in the neck and shoulders.Difficult sometimes to know whether its P.M.R. or a trapped nerve or pulled muscle.Got a bad ''flare'' at the moment which started 2 days ago,so going to the pharmacy to collect my meds and ask if its ok to up my dosage.Trying to talk to never mind see a G.P. at the moment here is a nightmare.Still at over 80 I guess I have a lot to be thank full for

Hi and welcome,

This link might give you a bit more info about illness - and in return perhaps you can put a bit more on your profile about you -

start date and dose, issues pre diagnosis, country (some protocols/names of meds vary)- and what dose you’re on now -

My neck and shoulder pain is mostly due to tight/spasmed back and shoulder muscles due to myofascial pain syndrome, which is now thought to be a part of PMR. I find more targeted treatment saves increasing the oral pred that is enough to manage the more generalised PMR, Of course - with Covid that is also a problem!

Hello BeeDee

Welcome 🌺

Sorry to hear your experiencing a flare, me too 😔

I do hope it settles quickly, as DL says a bit of extra info helps us offer more advice... Such as are you flaring after a Reduction or are you reducing too quickly or by too big a dose?

Welcome Once Again
