Well I’ve been on LCHF low carb high fat and it’s worked a treat for me. I read up and looked online about how it works. I’m one lb away from 4 stone and that’s from May. Good luck on your weight loss journey 🍏🍎

Hello and welcome to the Weigh Loss Forum Howshort

I’m sorry but we don’t do violence, so no kicking allowed, in the posterior or anywhere 😂. Seriously, you have taken the best step, I’m sure with our help you will soon see things improving.

You have my sympathy regarding arthritis, although I do manage to walk, and do some yoga, it’s a fine line between moving to prevent stiffness and overdoing it. I was advised to start with small short walks of about 5 minutes several times a day. Failing that, could you do some chair based activities? Unfortunately these things won’t help your weight, only eating differently can do that, but it may help your joints

If you haven’t already then please read the Welcome Message in Pinned Posts here healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... Please read it carefully so you can find all the information you need to find your way around the forum.

As a peer to peer support group we rely totally upon mutual encouragement. Nothing beats joining in, reading posts and replying to others. Our Group Weigh-in and the Daily Diary are probably the best places to start. Please just ask if you have any questions

Best wishes

Indigo 😊

I can understand that, chronic pain gets you down ☹️

I find planning very helpful, if I have a meal planned it’s easier to eat healthily. I also prefer to cook in the morning before I get tired and sore, things that can be reheated, or will last a couple of days. Now my husband is retired we often eat our main meal at midday.

I am going to add some bits to my shopping delivery this week then try and batch cook

Have a look at the Daily Diary too for more inspiration 😊 My main issue was eating too much, especially as I’m much less active than I used to be

Hi Howshort, IndigoBlue61 says we're not allowed to be violent, so let me offer you a carrot instead of the stick.

I have arthritis in my foot, it's never been really bad, but even so, I noticed an improvement when I changed my diet and took out a lot of the carbs. I think they increase the inflammation, but I can't give you the science.

And it seemed to me to only take a couple of weeks to feel a difference, so I'm sure it was more about the change in diet rather than the weight loss, (which has happened more slowly)!

Best wishes for your plans, whatever they are.
