Dental treatment
Hi all, had anyone been referred to a dental hospital for treatment? Every time I have had dental work my body reacts to the anesthetic meaning I tremor violently from head to toe, and the anaesthetic didn’t numb the gum! So they gave me more which made the problem twice as bad and still no numbness.

Recent data indicate that most dental treatments may be performed in patients taking NOACs without an increased likelihood of bleeding
If you are worried about risks of bleeding and wondered if you need to discontinue NOACs before undergoing dental treatment – you should read this rather reassuring article and share it with your dentist too. https://bit.ly/2scI2P0 I hope you will find it helpful.

ADT and hip replacement
I am due to have an anterior total hip replacement on June 19th I will visit my oncologist for my 6 monthly Eligard injection on June 14th. Does anyone know if there is a problem with this? I was told that I should not have any major dental treatment before a hip replacement when I rang today about

Oral hygiene on point but always need dental treatment at each visit !!!! Can this disease attack your gums too I wonder !
Every day I brush my teeth at least twice a day, some times more. I use a mouthwash and floss daily too. Unless I put my mouth in the washing machine, I can’t be any cleaner But every time I go dentist I have gum disease, not always in the same place either. Dentist is confused too as he said he

“Right to Try” legislation
Gus, et al, Don't get too excited. Today in the NY Times [1]: "At first glance, a bill passed by the House of Representatives this week seems like the kind of thing anyone could get behind. Known as the “Right to Try” legislation, it would allow terminally ill patients access to experimental drugs

Dental treatment
Yesterday I had a mouth biopsy for lichen planus. Afterwards I had a really bad headache and am now suffering sensitivity to light and difficulty swallowing. The dental hospital says it not due to the biopsy. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Advice re symptoms please
Hi After a long road and seeing many GPs and an Endo who couldn't help, I have finally found a GP who thinks I have subclinical hypothyroidism and maybe some pituitary issues. I was originally signed off work in Nov and I eventually resigned from my job due to symptoms such as exhaustion, panic attacks

Antibiotics
Because of my Mitral Valve damage I have to be given antibiotic cover when I have certain dental treatment. I find this knocks my digestive system out of whack and I have been told this is because the antibiotics kill of the good bacteria in the gut. My question is has anyone got any advice about how

Dental treatment
Today I have started on Benepali. The nurse went through all the risks and what to be aware of. She then mentioned dental treatment and one of the issues was root canal. I am due to have a new bridge started on Saturday which involves one root canal. She felt I should still start today but ask my rheumy

Hydrocortisone and fillings...
Hi, I’m due two fillings tomorrow at the dentist. I currently take 15mg of hydrocortisone (10mg am and 5pm). I’m now worried about ‘adrenal crisis caused by stress’ should I increase my dosage before my appointment or is there no need? This is my first dental treatment since starting on steroids therefore

Warning about dental treatment
I very rarely post on the site but tap in now and again to see what everyone is up to. In September I had a crown shear off in my lower right hand jaw and found that the underside of it was rotten (the dentist put this down to various chemos I have had over the past 6 years). Coughed blood.
I just coughed up a little bit of blood. I do not smoke. I do have very sore tooth, could it be that. I’m going to be put to sleep so I can get dental treatment at clinic, cos I’m agoraphobic and haven’t left my house in 5 years. I’m really concerned 😟.
