Well, am having what could be described as a “Kleenex”day! My gp has come to the conclusion that I am intolerant of all the new anticoagulant meds. He has written letter to hospital anti.coagulation clinic for warfarin. Needless to say this has thrown me a bit and am quite upset as I hear some horrible

IVF spotting 7wks
I’ve recently had a 6wk scan and heartbeat was seen strong on the screen! However the doctor said there was bleeding behind the baby, and that I need to rest up. I’ve not been doing anything strenuous but worrying constantly about the spotting I’m getting. It’s not every day, but it comes out in dark

Natural solution for High Blood Pressure
Hi All, I am 52 and have Cirrhosis, by the time I found out I was mid stage 4. I quit drinking and after several years I have been able to correct my liver some. My Blood Pressure has always been high, I have cycled through a multitude of blood pressure medications. However, they all kept me right around

Cancer Coagulation specialist? Is there one? When do i/we enlist one? That's 3 questions and is enough.
Yes, I've got beautiful CT abs/pelvis/chest and NM bone scans last Monday. Nothing found. Good news, great news. My Meds are working well. PSA is 0.75. Yes, I'm on Xarelto for AFIB prevention since Feb 14th. And NSR since Cath ablation May 6th. I asked my EP(electrophysiologist) last Wed if I need Cancer

Things took a bad turn
Dad had been in ICU for about 56 days on a ventilator due to Covid, he was finally transferred to rehab with a tracheotomy. He was still on dialysis but kidneys were just starting to kick in. He was awake, alert but couldn’t speak yet. Had minimal muscle movement, was using his right hand however his

Lupus/APS and cod liver oil
The inflammatory arthritis is very painful, would cod liver oil be safe to take with
anticoagulants
? I think the oil would help with the inflammation. Many thanks

Bracelet
Does anyone wear or was told to wear a medical I. D. Bracelet due to being on high doses of blood thinners and /or aspirin? Heard it’s been recommended.

Hey 😊 looking for some advice on blood thinners.. I recently had covid 19 and had a heart attack.. I have two stents in my heart.. My worry is my circulation cuts off in my feet and arms easily and I'm covered in bruises.. Is this normal for blood thinners?? Thanks 😊

Please help, suspected diaphragmatic endometriosis
Hi everyone, i'm looking for advice or anyone with similar symptoms as i cant cope with this pain any longer :( I have been having pains in my left and right sides since December, had many trips to the Drs before lockdown who are baffled as to what the pain could be. I've also had horrific period pains

Finishing with Apixaban
Hi everyone, I remember how scared I was nearly 4 months ago when I was diagnosed with DVT and blood clots in my thigh (provoked - long haul flight followed by resting due to a broken foot). This group helped me enormously to get through the initial stages and calm me down. Now I am a couple of days

Stopping blood thinners early?
I'd be interested to know if anyone here has experience of stopping their dual anti-platelet medication (aspirin + clopidogrel) early? I know guidelines are for 12 months but I know some people stop 1 drug early (usually due to bleeding). My reason for asking is I'm having debilitating side effects 6

Anticoagulants side effects
For many months now since starting to take Riveroxaban I’ve had numbness and a burning sensation in my feet, ankles and lower legs. My GP is convinced it’s not the anticoagulant. However I have just found an article published in The Netherlands stating that these medications can cause these exact symptoms

14 Months Success Story (so far).
I decided to share my story of AF and hope it is helpful to others. I am a 75 yr old male living in central Florida. I inherited the AF from my mothers side of the family. My mother, one of her sisters, one of my brothers and one of my sons all have AF. I had 5 AF events starting in my late

Coronavirus May Be a Blood Vessel Disease too
Not exactly a CLL post but an interesting article that poses the question that COVID19 is a vascular infection instead of a purely respiratory one. There is now a growing body of evidence to support the theory that the novel coronavirus can infect blood vessels, which could explain not only the high

Meds problem update
Hi all, I thought I'd offer an update to my earlier post. All advice has been appreciated. To recap, 2 weeks after a stent insertion I stopped my beta blocker, ace inhibitor and statin due to increasing and crippling nerve pain. I remained on aspirin and clopidogrel. At first I was advised not to do
