Has anyone else had increased heartburn / GERD when using the generic versions of Cialis & Viagra? The brand versions have a type of enteric coating which may make it easier to digest without causing heartburn / GERD since I never had this problem with the brand name pills.
The generic versions I receive have no coating -- they are in pill form -- and they cause me to have really bad heartburn/ GERD, sometimes for days after I take them, especially for the generic Cialis.
Has this happened to anyone else taking generic versions of Viagra and/or Cialis and have you been able to resolve this? I'd prefer not to become dependent on antacids since they have their own health concerns.
Thank you very much.

Thanks so much for your reply -- it's only with the generics that I've experienced this issue so maybe its worth paying (a lot) more and going back to the brand names. I'll weigh the options --- I wish I didn't need any meds at all for erection assist but ...
I've never had any of the upset stomach or headache side effects, thankfully.
However, I've noticed a most unusual "side effect" with generic Sildenafil that is digestion-related - although, I've never heard any other man mention this so I might be an extremely weird case.
If I take a tablet (100mg), then dutifully wait the advised one hour before sex, I've learned that it's best not to wait much longer before beginning (i.e., don't wait until 2 or 3 hours later, even though the Sildenafil is still in the blood stream).
Reason: somewhere usually between 2nd and 3rd hour, I will have a significant bowel movement 😲. At first it seemed a coincidence, but it seems to happen every time!? Very bizarre. AFAIK, there's never been any mention of Sildenafil behaving as a laxative 🤷♂️
