Initial RP or RT and salvage comparisons?
I have seen several studies showing that FAR fewer RT patients undergo a salvage treatment other than ADT. Salvage surgeries require a real specialist, who likely not locally available for the patient. Other salvage options for RT patients are brachy, HIFU, TULSA PRO, etc. Thus, it follows many RT

Hot flash relief?
I'm on month two of temporary ADT (Firmagon, switching soon to Orgovyx), and the hot flashes are getting more frequent and intrusive. Any tips?

Prostate Cancer Foundation : ADT: What You Really Need to Know .. "Who should not get ADT? "
"Who should not get ADT? Anybody else with prostate cancer. If you just have a rising PSA after radiation therapy or radical prostatectomy, that is not a good enough reason for a doctor to put you on ADT. If your doctor wants to put you on ADT to “shrink your prostate” before brachytherapy, that’s

Update from previous posts
Hya , hope you’re all coping 😘. I’m just updating from my last couple of posts . I had my first face to face appointment with gynaecologist last week . We went over my MRI results a bit more thoroughly than when I spoke with him over the phone about it . Scar tissue on ligaments which is suggestive

Micro-Mets Next Steps
Beloved, well-read, much-experienced cancer colleagues, My PSA has gone up quite slowly since being OFF all ADT since 2015-16 clinical trial on Lupron and Apaludimide (I had heart attack and a TIA then- my oncologist has not urged me to go back on ADT since). My PSA is now just under 2.7 but was 1.4

Does Erectile function come back after radiation treatment+brachytherapy+2 year ADT?
59 years old now, diagnosed Gleason 9, organ confined, in Sept 2019, PSA 7.4 at the time. Did radiation treatment+high-dose brachytherapy+2 year ADT. Has anyone among you recovered their erectile function after such a treatment? PSA was <0.1 and testosterone was <20 while on ADT. Finished ADT

Orgovyx
Began Orgovyx about a month ago... PSA prior to taking it was 12.89 Got my labs at Emory yesterday and MO called me to report that PSA is now 0.39 after 28 days on it. Once a day...just Orgovyx. I wasn't embracing ADT as those I knew were getting Lupron shots combined with Zytiga and Prednisone...and

My MO wants me to do a LN needle biopsy for Parp, but I am not mCRPC.
I have been searching and am confused. I have not even started ADT yet, so is this biopsy needed? I also searched, but what all is involved with a inguinal lymph node biopsy with CT guidance. The imaging center will only tell me that a radiologist will do the procedure and a nurse will call me 24 hours

Overall survival (OS) & (MFS) in men with biochemical relapse (BCR) after radical prostatectomy / defer ADT treatment til metastatic
"ADT prior to mets may not improve QoL or OS in BCR prostate cancer and may result in irreversible adverse events at high costs. Early use of novel androgen receptor targeting drugs (NARTD) prolonged MFS in nonmetastatic-castration resistant prostate cancer (nmCRPC). However, clinical details prior

Nubeqa or Zytiga, which should come first?
Hello! I am confused on which med is best to add to my ADT, Orgovyx which I have been on for a month now. I am Gleason 9, N0 M0 (as far as I know only was able to get a CT, bone scan and MRI), extra capsulation extension. Urologist suggested Zytiga also but RO said he did not think that was necessary

Radiation Questions
Post RARP, and I'm meeting with my surgeon's PA to discuss next phase of treatment. Margins, nerves and seminal vesicle were positive, so probably continuing with ADT with addition of radiation. Question: What questions should I be asking on Friday? Any additional guidance is appreciated. Thanks!

New Data: Finasteride Safely Prevents Prostate Cancer'These Results Are Transformational,' Says Researcher May 20, 2018
But: "Who uses it today? Almost nobody." "We have answered the questions and closed the book." As reported in 2003, the risk for prostate cancer over the initial 7-year study period was 25% lower with finasteride than with placebo. That risk reduction now "goes out to 16 years, at least," (unlike ADT

Decision time Lutetium or AM509
M1, five bone lesions, mCRPC with PSA now doubling each month (currently at 1.7), after failure of abiraterone. I've been offered a "slot" for two clinical trials: AMG509, a bi-specific T-cell engager, and a new version of Lutetium therapy, called Lu-DOTA-TLX590-CHO (which they say is novel, and seems
