Neoadjuvant ADT - is a slowing PSA drop rate normal?
Hi all, first time poster here. My father (61, very healthy) was DX'd Sept 2021 with high-risk locally advanced prostate cancer with the following profile: G9, pre-op PSA ~58, MRI showing 1 possible pelvic LN mets. He had no symptoms and it came out of nowhere during his check up. From the treatment

ADT collagen/cartilage issues
Taking a pole I’m in my 4th year of ADT (eligard/Zytiga) and my joints are weaker..most Achilles issues. now both my eyes are affected..vitriol membrane humour separation leaving me with dancing Weiss ring floaters disrupting my field if vision. I’m quite myopic so they tell me it’s a risk factor. Wonder

VERU-111 (sabizabulin)
I was just reading about the very positive findings for sabizabulin in treating Covid-19 and remembered that several members had been in early clinical trials for prostate cancer (under the name VERU-111). https://fortune.com/2022/04/12/experimental-covid-drug-sabizabulin/ The reason it may work for

ADT & the gut microbiome.
New study from Japan below [1]. Not good, & presumably worse for the more efficient Abiraterone than Lupron, say. First, some terms: (a) "The α- and ß-diversity of gut microbiota" alpha diversity pertains to richness/variety beta diversity is based on a before-after comparison (b) "microbiota" versus

Career after PCa diagnosis?
I've been working for a large company as an IT employee. But, after being PCa diagnosed and all the treatments involved, especially the mind-bending ADT drugs, the quick thinking, swift information sweeping, memory recall and overall mental acuity seems challenged to say the least. So, I've finally

PSA rising while on ADT mono therapy
After 4 years of being hormone sensitive PSA is rising now while on single ADT (Zoladex). Is this when I become castrate resistant. What are the symptoms confirming this. Do you need testosterone to rise as well as the PSA to confirm castrate resistant. I asked for PET scan but might not be approved

Yet another new member...
Just introducing myself at the prompt of this website... I'm 62 now, and after having my prostate removed via Davinci, the nice folk who examine such stuff have pronounced that I am a stage 4a cancer patient. I apparently have lymph node mets, but none (yet) to bones or further in the body. Currently

Getting the most out of Radiation: Radiosensitizers
This is my season for more radiation treatments. This coming week I will have 5 SBRT treatments in 5 days to two newly identified small lymph nodes found on my latest PSMA scan. One in the right pelvis (external iliac) and the other in the abdomen near the celiac plexus. The latter now makes my "officially

Radical Robotic Prostatectomy vs. Radiation and hormone treatment. That is my question. Stage 2. Aggressive Tumor.
Should I consider Cyberknife ? I am in a real quandary about which way to go.

Time in a test tube
Gave up my G9 prostate to the robot in 2014. My PSA was 5. Level dropped to <0.1 until 2017 after it climbed to .23. ADT and prostate bed radiation brought the level down to <0.1 until a year ago. PSA jumped from .2 to .4 over a few months last summer. PSMA scan revealed two hot lump nodes last fall.

Breaking bones
When I pee I lean my head against the wall behind the toilet to stabilize myself. I did this in an unfamiliar bathroom and hit my sternum against a shelf pretty hard but not that hard. I think I cracked my sternum because it is quite painful. Have been on ADT about a year. Does it sound like osteoporosis

High Blood Pressure and ADT
Have any of you had to go on High Blood Pressure medication due to side effects from ADT or other PCa treatments? I was already on Amlodpine before my diagnosis and now my PCP wants to increase the dosage. I’ve also read that Beta Blockers have a positive effect at suppressing Prostate Cancer and I

Adding docetaxel for BCR CSPC at 3-mo doubling rate
Hi all, Just a brief update as I prepare for the next round of battle. My PSA is low and rising quickly (BCR, PSA 0.77 up from 0.47 a month ago and <0.5 8 months ago). About a 3-month doubling rate but nothing detected on scans so far. Over the past weeks I've managed to get several opinions from

ADT Vacation - update 2
In my last update I wrote that I’d be getting a PSMA scan assuming my insurance company cooperated. Well my insurance company hasn’t been very cooperative. The didn’t approve the PSMA. They did say they wanted a CT scan first before they’d approve the PSMA. My MO didn’t expect the CT scan to show much
