Flare with normal blood inflammation levels ?
I began my PMR journey last February albeit unknowing what my condition was then, initially unable to get a correct diagnosis I was first prescribed Nefopam and
Amitriptyline
which had no effect to my symptoms, the
Amitriptyline
actually made me worse.

Iloprost infusions
I have tried Sildenafil (but couldn't tolerate the side effects) and for a while now have been on
Amitriptyline
(or Nortiptyline), and Pregabalin. So far, nothing has relieved the pain in my feet. I saw the Rheumatologist last week and he has referred me for Iloprost infusions, starting next week.

PMR since July 2018 and down to 1mg. Enter GCA
. π My GP had me slowly increase my
Amitriptyline
from 30mg to 60mg during May to see if that helped. I didn't have inflammatory markers done as part of my blood tests because I had zero PMR symptoms and I seemed to be doing fine. So I don't know if CRP and ESR would have been rising.

Do I have Nerolgical Itching or a dermatology issue
Amitriptyline
tablets have not helped. No cream or lotion has helped. I never get the itching when I am asleep. I only get it when I am awake. What part of my body is itchy varies from hour to hour and day to day. There is no rash or inflammation of the skin anywhere on my body.

I tried
amitriptyline
which made me very drowsy the following day. My doctor said the las resort would be gabapentin because there are bad side effects. I also have started sweating as well. I would appreciate any comments from people going through the same thing.

Restless Legs - changing treatment.
Amitriptyline
as well - it was even less successful. None of them could take away the restlessness in the legs and just made me dizzy. Now referred to a neurologist who has prescribed Pregabalin 75 mg, 1-2 tbl. evening. Was not told about e.g. tapering pramipexole.

Update - Not Polymyalgia?
He said I donβt have PMR but my symptoms are from cervical spondylosis (from neck xray GP had ordered after I insisted) Rheumy told me to taper off a milligram every 2 weeks and go back to GP for painkillers or
amitriptyline
. Iβm beginning to think doctoring is pure guesswork?

IBS and Amitriptyline
I have started taking
Amitriptyline
10mg a day for Post infectious IBS-D. The whole week was ok with no symptoms but since yesterday, it started again while I ate some food out of my diet routine. My question is do I need to stick to low FODMAP diet while taking medicine or can I eat any food?

Amitriptyline and cortisol
Hi everyone, Here is one of many studies concluding that
amitriptyline
suppresses the HPA axis and significantly reduces cortisol levels. I have found many peer-reviewed articles claiming the same thing about opioids and benzodiazpines also, but it seems to be more pronounced for
amitriptyline
.
