Daybreak talking about hair loss in women
Just watching daybreak and in particular nadine dorries talking about her hair loss and all I can think about is how she hasn't a clue how people feel about really losing their hair. Her hair is thinning but having thyroid disease mine falls out in clumps and I have bald patches and I would be happy

Hair is one typical symptom of lupus and one which any women with the diease find distressing it seemed to start for me after the diagnosis and so on for about 2 months. I was left with severe loss of hair it went from thick to dangerously thin in that 2 months and i was at the end of my tether, i looked

I have been suffering from an itchy scalp which produces dry flaky skin and a red rash, for around five years now.
I have been prescribed betamethasone valerate and apply it several times a week. I cannot get the bottom of what causes it and my GP is not interested. can anyone help? Should i be taking the steroid long term?

Daughter's Test Results
She has various symptoms but recently her hair had become extremely thin and we requested a referral to a dermatologist (which I paid for) who diagnosed non-scarring
alopecia
related to low levels of: ferritin at 35 (ref range 25.1 - 165) folate 7.8 (ref range 4.6 - 18.8) He said for normal hair growth

My son
I don't have
alopecia
, my son has had it for a couple of months and, as you can imagine, he is distraught. I have spent a fortune on nioxin, and on supplements like Hebridean sea Kelp , but its getting worse..

Help - very Itchy scalp - might this be a first psoriasis outbreak? What to do?
I haven't had an itchy scalp for years since my bad old
alopecia
/ eczema days when I suffered terribly and used Betacap (betnovate) on it regularly to very good effect. This is different.

Hi, I have coeliacs, my son doesn't but he has recently developed
alopecia
. I know that coeliacs can be hereditary and that
alopecia
can be caused by an auto immune disorder. I just wondered if it was worth chasing up a possible connection?

I have recently been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid and have heard that sea kelp is good for your thyroid function. Is this true and can you take it if you are on thyroxine medication

Hair loss still continuing - getting upset
Despite being on T3 for some 8 months I'm still moulting. I've taken an iron supplement (Floradix) for around 30 years and my last ferritin test showed that it was OK. Any ideas what I can do please? Thanks!

IDS claims he can live on £53 a week.
By last night almost 300,000 people had signed an online petition challenging Mr Duncan Smith to survive on £53 a week, or £7.57 a day, after he insisted he could "if I had to". It was set up when David Bennett, a market trader, told BBC Radio 4 that the sum was all he had to live on after his housing
