I need help for a friend......because she doesn't speak english well enough. She has been diagnosed celiac plus hashimoto's just recently.
Not yet on thyroxine someone advised her to take kelp or similar. The GP here who is incidentally also my GP dismissed her saying 'it's easy to get better with hashimoto's , just take levothyroxine and you'll be fine!' Now we know it isn't that easy. But I don't know what to suggest about kelp for

Hair Loss
Hi, I'm on a roll tonight with my questions haha!! I have been having handfuls of hair loss recently and I have been very worried about it, I used to have long very thick hair but it has really thinned out and I am concerned it's the drugs that are doing it. I take prednisolone, hydroxychloroquine

I have a lot of the symptoms of Hypothyroid, I first started to feel unwell several years ago, first signs were
alopecia
on head and body, rash, dry skin, weight gain, lack of energy etc. The symptoms have got progressively worse, although my hair did grow back.

Hair loss
Hi I have an underactive thyroid (diagnosed approx 2 years ago). Have been told T4 is fine whatever that means. My hair did start to get better from Dec 2012 - June/July 2013. Ferriting was low and was therefore taking ferrous sulphate three times a day and stopped this approx April as levels back

What should I do now?
He diagnoised
Alopecia
and said the hair would grow back in a year. Unfortunately it hasn't. He also said that he was not going to treat it. I have tried several things, Biotin. Silica, Manoxidil which I had to stop as it made my scalp itch and flake very badly.

Coeliac and alopecia
I have coeliac and my son has developed
alopecia
. He mentioned my diagnosis to his doctor who dismissed him telling him to grow his hair over his bald patch.. Surely the GP should be testing him for coeliacs?

Is there anything I can do about my terrible hair loss?
At one time it was just a slight thinning, now it is devastating me. My hair, like most women, is so important, my fringe (to hide my lack of eyebrows) is so poor now. I have been using Nioxin 4 shampoo and conditioner for some months now after I saw a suggestion by someone on HealthUnlocked but it

Frontal fibrosing alopecia.......newly diagnosed and now devastated.
Having recently had my worst fears confirmed it seems that I personally am going to end up looking like an alien............there again it could be worse I guess lol lol! But seriously it isn't a joking matter and though it isn't life threatening as such...the personal devastation is huge because, as

Hello
It has taken me a few weeks to come to terms with my hair loss. I am 47 years old. My husband told me about a bald patch on the back of my head when we were out walking our dogs. The wind was blowing ( a typical summers day) I thought he was joking at first so when we got home I checked the mirror.

Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia
Hello,I'm new to the site and wondered if anyone has had success with treatment with scalp injections. I am concerned that it may be somewhat of a health risk injecting cortisone into your scalp and then finding out down the road that it actually did contribute to some health problem.

Alopecia?
I'm a 21 year old guy. I noticed a small patch of hair missing 2 months ago from the side of my head. About 1cm big. Hardly noticeable at all. Now 2 months on... I have patches of hair missing from all over my head. More are still appearing everyday. They are all getting bigger each day and

My 4yr old daughter has a bald spot.
We noticed my daughter had a small bald spot on the top of her head a few days ago the spot is quite dry and resembles a rash or skin complaint, she has found it itchy, it has doubled in size in the last few days and we are worried it may continue to grow, one of the Dr's at our Gp surgery told us not
