Alopecia

i have lost lot of hair despite taking Biotin. I am on 50 mcg of synthroid. Endo doesn’t think hair loss is due to thyroid.. Anyone else have hair loss issues?

I haven't yet disclosed this , but as well as my SLE , I also have significant hair loss the hair loss has now been diagnosed as alopecia.

my alopecia aretera doesn’t seem to improve despite me taking biotin 5000 mcg, citracal + D3 - 400 mg calcium, vitamin D 12.5 mcg. My endocrinologist says results are good! Thanks

Medical histories were reviewed, alopecia severity was assessed using the Severity of Alopecia Tool (SALT), and blood tests measured thyroid hormones and autoantibodies.

My main concern isn’t the alopecia itself; it’s whether Acalabrutinib could be causing toxicity in my body. My oncologist assures me that alopecia isn’t related to the medication, while my dermatologist says it’s an autoimmune disorder with no clear explanation.

How long before labs to stop B Complex Solgar-50 which contains D-biotin 50mcg and does it make much difference. I suspect this question has been asked a Zillion times but on googling there are various answers from 2 days to a week thanks

Hi all, can anyone clarify. I know biotin affects blood results for thyroid tests. Can I take Vit b supplements containing biotin during taking levothyroxine? Do i need to take biotin? What B vitamins are most important to take? Can anyone recommend a good brand with no fillers or crap in them?
