Alopecia Areata
Now I know for sure it's not Pred that has caused this but 4 days after taking first dose on 15 June 2020 .. I wash my hair and a clump the size of an inch comes away in my brush. I've suffered alopecia areata 3 times previously since becoming an adult. Last time approximately 10 years ago. I'm now

Urethrotomy with Mitomicin C injection for Radiation Stricture

I had my liver biopsy in April and was diagnosed with AIH the same month. Please could you tell me if it is usual for the Dr to not give me any medication at the beginning? I had a blood test in May but nothing since then. Thank you for reading x

When to take the low dose aspirin?
My doc never gave me specific instructions so I just take it with all my other pills in the morning after breakfast. But my wife said on her first aid course they were told we take it at night as that’s the time the body would need it more. Now I don’t recollect my doc saying anything like that, but

Being on hydroxychloroquine for SLE makes no difference to severity of Coronavirus infection - Covid-19 Global Rheum Alliance report
This has just been released. https://ard.bmj.com/content/early/2020/05/07/annrheumdis-2020-217690 Sadly no protection for us being on hydroxychloroquine it seems. Also the hospitalisation figures (55 - 57%) were horribly high in this, but I'm reminding myself that these cases are physician reported

Clorgyline for Enzalutamide resistance.
New study below [1]. See also my prior post on Clorgyline [2]. "... most patients eventually develop Enz resistance that may involve inducing the androgen receptor (AR) splicing variant 7 (ARv7). Here we report that high expression of monoamine oxidase-A (MAO-A) is associated with positive ARv7 detection

Why do I feel so tired still when I wake up in the morning?
I have Graves’ disease and taking 5 mg of carbimazole recently reduced from 10 mg. I’m feeling a lot better than I did but never feel like I’ve had a good sleep. I wake up tired! My sleep is broken through the night sometimes but still manage to get at least 6/7 hours. I’m due a blood test next Monday

Coronavirus implications for survivors of pulmonary embolism and on rivaroxaban
I am still not clear if we should be considered as high risk for coronavirus complications having survived two cases of pulmonary embolisms and now on rivaroxaban for life. Loss of lung capacity would indicate that Covid would have a bad effect on lungs, and breathing but not told to shield?

Melatonin & PMR
I am having trouble sleeping for the first time since going on prednisone 8 months ago. I know part (maybe most) of the problem is since reducing to 7 mg I have pain in my shoulders so wake up frequently to turn over. Wondering if melatonin at night would help. Information online seems to indicate it

You're not my real mom! You just give me drugs (legal doctor scripts, so chill).
I hope you all forgive me because I think I'm hilarious when I write my titles but I am also usually exhausted and a little punch drunk from a long day. I got scolded this morning from my psychiatrist when she called me to see how I'm liking my new antidepressant prescription. Do you remember when you
