Hi. I had a breast biopsy last year on a lump which turned out to be a fibroadenoma. I had another lump in January which was nothing and now just had another scan as I am worried about a different lump. I'm so worried about the results. Has anyone else had similar problems with breasts and having so many scans?

Worried about Breast Scan
Hi Hashm
I know it’s difficult not to worry but it’s a fact that most breast lumps are benign. Between the ages of 16 and 47, I had about two dozen lumps. The first two were fibroadenomas which were excised. The rest were cysts which were dealt with quickly by use of a syringe in Outpatients. These lumps are very common. I was told that if a lump moves freely under the skin - known as a breast mouse - then this is a sign that it is benign, tho those that don’t move could well be benign too. Obviously all lumps need to be checked by your GP but the vast majority are benign. Since you’ve had two already, the chances are good I would think that this latest lump is another of the same. Like me, you are perhaps more susceptible to breast cysts.
Incidentally the syringing procedure was painless.
However I would certainly see your GP as soon as possible for your peace of mind and for an expert evaluation.
All the best
Caroline
