Once a month and really, once a month
Hello I have been diagnosed with Fibrosis Stage 3 but they are treaing me as though I have early Cirrohsis. I've been told to abstain alcohol forever. Now if I truly have the willpower to treat myself on one day a month to a few drinks and it is only one day a month, would it really do any harm ? I guess

Fatigue after cataract surgery.
I had my first cataract operated on on 14th April. On 5mgs pred for PMR. (Diagnosed September 2020.) Since then I've been very tired, with "heavy" legs, but no other PMR symptoms. As my sight is now very "imbalanced" until I get my new specs, is it likely that the fatigue is caused by my brain

Biliary Atresia
My daughter had a Kasai procedure a little over a month ago. We noticed today her stool went from bright yellow to pale cream. No temperature, normal appetite and very active. GGT levels fluctuate from 252 to 180 to 352. Could GGT be a factor? Anybody else have experienced a similar case? Did you require

MAOB inhibitors compared : Rasagiline compared to Selegiline
(Quote from paper) Considering the essential difference between the pharmacological spectrum of selegiline and rasagiline,5 the results of the present study demonstrated that the group treated with selegiline as initial MAO-BI stayed without DA for a longer period compared with the rasagiline group;

Cataract Surgery with permanent AF
New to the community. Have permanent AF, only meds Metoprolol to control heart rate and Aspirin. Saw some posts regarding cataract surgery. Anyone have similar AF "experience" that had cataract surgery? I'm a "timid" patient due to AF, but my cataract in one eye really needs attention. The community's

Alternative to prednisone
I am about to be tapered off prednisone and put on the biologic medication Actemra (Tocilizumab) as my rheumatologist says the long term effects of prednisone are very hard on the body. The Actemra will be self injected weekly. I am interested to hear from anyone with experience with this treatment.

Cataract surgery and sick day rules
Hello more questions again I am afraid. I am about to have my second eye cataract surgery and wondered if I should look to 'Sick Day Rules' around this procedure? I am currently on 8.5 mg pred having reduced a couple of weeks ago. I had my first eye done a year before my GCA diagnosis and treatment.

A worrying few days!
Last Thursday I had a very bad headache - only occasionally get these and they only last a day. But this time it was still there on Friday Morning and it was unusual enough for me to check my vision and I discovered that the vision in the left eye had deteriorated quite a lot. I rang my optician but

Possible GCA.
I had cataracts surgery March 15 the left eye, March 29th right eye. Within a few days of the second surgery my headaches started. Never prone to any headaches. I have PMR. Started on prednisolone 15mls. 45mg. about a year ago. High dose because of gastric bypass. Only got relief at high dose.

Stopped T 3 in Hashimoto due to palpitations
My endocrinologist stopped my 5 mcg of T 3 a few months ago to see if T 3 was causing palpitations.!now I am on increased dose of t4, levothyroxine 75mcg 3 days a week and 50 mcg 4 days a week both first thing in the morning on empty stomach. Should I restart taking T 3 again ? Endocrinologist says blood
