Hallo Everyone, and Thank you again to Fibro2021, I have read your very numerous and various responses to people, and admire your clarity and that you never patronize! I begin to see how hypertensive portal gastropathy, is somewhat serious, perhaps more serious than that which is occuring in my colon; as yet, it is all thatI know. I remain puzzled after I was advised that the volume of necrosis, is small! The combination of this, and the hypertensive portal Gastropathy has me wondering, tho intermittently, how small is small? I was advised they would cut this away? What bearing does each condition have on the other? Are they almost one and the same? I wish that I were more lucid and cogent, that brainfog has me in its grip and I hope it can be eradicated by whatever means. I feel somewhat selfish fraudulant for coming here, when so many of you are very sick and very brave! Kindest Regards Jon

morning Jon.well I realised for myself how serious portal hypertensive gastropothy is. nearly a year ago,I had a big stomach bleed....was rushed into North staffs hospital, had endoscopy, said I had bad gastritis as well as gastropothy....so several blood transfusions later ,loads of iv fluids, things improved. I had been on omeprazole, but doctors said that wasn't working,so put on lansoprazole, had another endoscopy, said again it wasn't settling things down. so now on a combination of lansoprazole and famotidine....not sure if that helps fella. take care, chris

Good Morning Redpoint72, What a terrible shock for you, ofte, it is the only time we are alerted that something is wrong! Very glad thet the med teams et al, fround something to treat, rather than send you home, where it cuold linger, which, I believe has happened to me, tho I have a few other sicknesses which mask what is going on! Well done you and North Staffs :) I stopped the Lanzoprazole, it interfered w the iron caps, which I deperately hope is hellping the brain fog, but, now, I learn that there are other brain fogs other than CFS and stroke, so, I hope for the best, and for you too, Redpoint72! Thank you for taking the time to write :) Kind Regards Jon

Any high rating of you is highly warranted :) Received a call today, after my post, wanting me to go this evening for a ct of thorax abdomen and pelvis, I shall go on Wednesday instead as I have a urethral stent tomorrow (t.m.i., LOL) I would rather unpleasant answers than uncertainty, and yes, your answer helped find more pieces for this jigsaw. Thank you!
