Major surgery and a Vasovagal event
I had gluteal
reconstructive
surgery
. The anaesthetist suggested I should increase my pred. So I did the sick day rule and added 5. Three days after surgery I had a Vasovagal event and the crash cart was called. I had a concussion and stayed in hospital a further two nights.

delayed reconstruction
I was supposed to receive
reconstructive
surgery
and have titanium implant to protect the sensitive area where my skin is my only protection to my brain. That was supposed to be 3-6 months after the initial surgery.

Hormonal therapy ?
Hi, I was diagnosed with extended DCIS with ER+, PR+.I had a total mastectomy with a diep flap 2 weeks ago, My surgeon referred me to medical oncology for hormonal therapy. I am curious do I still need hormonal therapy as I already had a mastectomy, as far as cancer recurrence and preventing cancer

Diep Flap Procedure Question
Hi, I'm a breast cancer survivor and I had a double mastectomy. It is planned that I'm going to have the Diep flap procedure and I was wondering if anyone could advise me on how weight gain and loss affect the body after this procedure? Thanks

carpal tunnel post surgery
Hi there, my friend had her carpal tunnel op almost 3 weeks ago. All her fingers had curled inwards. How long does it usually take for her fingers to straighten out after the op. Her pain level is still exactly the same - 8 cocodomol tablets daily . Her fingers still remain curled. Obviously she’s

Hoping someone has experienced similar
I was diagnosed with endometriosis following a laparoscopy in 2022. Both adnexa adherent into the POD which was partly obliterated. Rectum also pulled up against uterosacral. Probable right endometrioma. Essentially my tubes, bowel and ovaries all stuck together and into the pouch of Douglas. They

Surgery coming up...will it affect my thyroid?
A bit of a silly question.... I have surgery coming up in 4 weeks (prolapse repair) and I'm wondering if it'll make my thyroid problems worse afterwards? I ask this because I'm pretty sure the massive blood loss (3.8 litres to be exact) and the whole trauma I had with my emergency C-section nearly

NHS can’t help. Try mushrooms
hi all, This is my first post. I was surgically diagnosed with endo in 2020 at 39, after 3 years of difficulties to conceive and 13 years of approaching various GPs with symptoms to be told it was “normal”. I have many issues with food and my bowel over the last 6 years (IBS, SIBI etc) a recent colonoscopy

There is hope
Hi all - I wanted to update everyone on a positive experience and to hopefully debunk some of the myths. For context I live in the Republic of Ireland and also have private medical insurance (this is very common in Ireland). 55, male and generally fit. I was having episodes of waking up, bolt upright

OCD, BPD, Physical Disability, and Caregiver Hell
I don't know why I was born, or for what reason. If there is a reason it must be because I am evil. I am 49, for 30 years I've battled "Harm OCD", which is the fear/urge/obsession that I'm going to harm/kill someone. In this case it was always my parents. I've probably had Borderline Personality
