Thanks Everyone for your support this week. My daughter, although very unhappy about her relationship split seems ok today. I have advised her to see a doctor, however she is adamant she doesn't need one and unfortunately she is of the age now that I can't force her to have treatment. I have a friend who used to self harm when she was younger. I am going to ask her to have a chat with my daughter.
I still haven't smoked, so that is a good thing. I still have cravings but remind myself that it is only today that I have to get through. My husband tells me how nice I smell and I feel really clean. He tells me I don't smell like a stale ashtray anymore and that for once he can actually smell my perfume as opposed to a mix of ash and flowers...hmmm nice.
Thanks to all of you for listening to me and offering words of encouragement and hope.
I think I can speak for everyone and say well done for not smoking and we are well proud.
With your daughter you have done your best and she has admited that she self harms so she knows that it is a problem.
She will be trying to get through it best she can and you can only be there for her, she can only go to the doctor when she feels its time for herself.
You have got your friend to speak to her and hopefully that will help her.
Scarlett O'Hara said 'afteral tomorrow is another day' if you get through the tough day today fantastic, tomorrow will be better, I might have a fag then, maybe not.
That is the way Im kind of thinking.
As for the perfume I know exactly what your saying, its lovely to still smell the perfume you spray in the morning still on you at bed time
I like the fact that my clothes dont stink, I can wear a top for more than one day now
And my teeth, Im brushing them 3 times a day instead of 5 or 6!! And when I am cleaning them at bedtime its not for the fact they are overly dirty/furry its just because its bedtime and thats what you do
Keep up the good work poland, your doing great, keep coming on here for tips/moans or just to keep yourself occupied
Thanks Sarah, everything you say makes good sense and I need to hear these things for re-enforcement.
I think we ALL need to hear this things from time to time.
We all have our down days and days we are struggling with, i find writing it down on here helps, nobody is going to judge you, we are here to help eachother through the tough struggle with life without fags.
If we can be here for eachother we can hopefully keep rid of them for another day, week, month
Even if it is just general thi fs you are strugling with we are here to help, PM me if you ever want to get things off your chest, Im on here pretty much on and off throughout the day and will get back to you asap
