I just finished with smoking. I've been in meeting down to a pack, half a pack a day. This morning was the last cigarette. The neurosis and anxiety are a killer. Just writing to say I am finished with cigatettes, and I won't smoke another, no matter what it takes, no matter what I am going through, and matter what I have been through. I know quitting smoking has been, and is going to be the best thing I can do in my life.

Hi RobbenWendy and welcome to Quit Support 👋👋Its great to hear that you've smoked your last cigarette and now on your way to be smokefree 🚭👍👏👏
I dont know if your using any form of NRT or not, but it does help in the early days👍Drink plenty of water to help flush all the toxins out of your body and maybe try to alter your routine a little, as this will help with the habit bit of it 👍
Good luck and if you need any help, we are only a couple of clicks away 🚭👍😀😺
Hello I was on NRT last month. Today at some point I will take a walk it is a real nice walk around the ville where I live, I wont let others stress me out copping for a cigarette, and I wont rush to the bodegas just because I have nothing else to do. It's always a drag when the renegades flag two fingers to their mouth and say you got, you got.

Hi RobbenWendy You sound very positive so another challenge for you. I have just changed your badge to newly Quit, so lets hope we dont have to change it, Have a good browse through the pinned posts for information on what to expect and things to help you with your quit journey .

Dont be afraid of coming on to the forum and asking for support and help, no matter how trivial it may seem. We (the admin) are all ex smokers so we do know what it can be like.
We look forward to supporting you, also if you like to chat we are here everday and can have a natter about anything at all. (besides smoking)

Rooting for you, RobbenWendy!
I recognise just the same determination in your words that I felt when I finally, finally had enough after decades of smoking. "No matter what it takes" is exactly what I thought. "If I have to feel a little crazy for a few days, or however long - well, I'll just have to feel a little crazy".
That feeling of pride you get when you free yourself from the slavery of nicotine addiction is huge - and the best part is, it stays with you every day that you stay quit!
Yes in my first day I start to lose focus and my thinking is in denial, but i haven't smoked yet since 6:00 am. I know it is not really about trying, and takes determination. There is no greater pleasure or victory than quitting smoking, and not living behind a smoke screen or veil of all of the fears I am hiding.
