Day four since quitting cold turkey. Oh my god I never thought it would be this hard!! Emotionally and physically. I’ve been sleeping loads and exercising every day. My top tips for getting through those first three days:
1) WATER - like all the time. You will be going to the toilet a lot...
2) Exercise - any exercise every day during this early stage. I’ve been cycling and going to the gym doing weights.
3) Sleep - let your body sleep, it seems to need it.
4) Change your habits - don’t sit down in the same seat you normally have a smoke, I haven’t been drinking as much coffee or alcohol because I associate smoking massively with both of these things. I had my first beer last night but only one.
5) Be kind to yourself - this isn’t easy and you need to look after number 1. Facemasks, good food, treat yourself to a massage with the money you have saved.
I hope this helps some people as I have found this community hugely supportive. I know I still have a long way to go but I feel like I have got over the first hurdle ✌️
