Hi Sara,I'm sorry I can't help you about the respiratory test, but as you know someone somewhere will answer.

Try not to worry you haven't had a bad diagnosis yet.

I've had a lung infection which wouldn't shift. I ended up in hospital on oxygen 24/7 and a specific antibiotic.

Good luck. XXX🌷🌺🌻

Hi Sara This link will explain what a respiratory test is. I have COPD through smoking and have this test done every year. The test is simple so don’t worry about it. nhs.uk/conditions/spirometry/

Sara, I’m no expert, but I would say dont worry about you may have cancer until you have a positive diagnosis...... virtual hugs coming your way. 😀👍😘🌹 Xx

Hi Sara, The respiratory test I had was sitting in a see through compartment and blowing into this fancy machine . I had to do that about 5 times. The doctor in charge made it easier or harder by adjusting it. I also had to walk a certain distance between 2 cones and i had to reach them before a timer went off.

They then take the readings from what you have done.

The tests may have changed since I had mine which was 7 years ago.

:) xx

I did end up with lung cancer back then , (long story) but if you need any info just private message me. :) xxx

Crikey Jilly. Thanks for that - It gives me a little bit of an idea -its nerve wracking when you've never had one done before

I was traumatised on Wednesday -I was surrounded by 32 legs !!!! aka great big (house) spiders 4 OF THEM

matters didnt help much because Im arachnaphobic -its bad enough 1 but 4 is too much of a stretch -as far as im concerned theyre ALL TRANTULAS & POISONOUS

OMG. that is scary I dont think I could cope with those. 🕷 XXX

Sara_2611 profile image
Sara_2611 in reply tojillygirl

Hi Jillygirl -No couldn't cope at all When I managed to get the first one in the hoover -I panicked when I saw the 2nd -I had nothing to kill it with so put all of my weight on my crutch & squashed it

One is bad enough but 4!!!!!!

my dad disapproves!! he says if you can control a horse I can get over my fear of spiders. Thats rich coming from someone who used to be scared of the himself

One year I think it was the 2nd night of me living alone there was a gigantic one guarding the top stair so I couldn't get upstairs -I had to call mum to come down & kill it so I could go to bed. As soon as she came down I ran out of the house doing my worst impersonation of Mo farah + usain bolt together down the road & back I hd a panick attack & paced up & down the kitchen until I calmed down

Oh you made me giggle . I once hoovered one up and never thought about it.

A couple of days later I got the hoover out and out crawled a very dusty ghost like spider. How it survived I dont know. :) xx

Sara_2611 in reply tojillygirl

Hello Jillygirl I dont know how it survived either. Once I hoover them up I put some tissue over the hole so with any luck it will suffocate & die. Thankfully some of the time its died of suffococation by the time mum comes round with the newspapers & I ask her to get rid of it

Sometimes the big *********** is still alive -although its been covered overnight & of course mum s going to get rid of it & I get her to stamp on it (& no im not being cruel lol) it would come right back in & it could be poisonous

I rely on hubby to get rid of spiders. If he is out and one comes along I get a bowl and place it over the spider , then when he comes back I run. lol

I once said to him If I lived on my own the floor would be covered in bowls and dishes. ( May be the electric man would sort them. :) xx

Sara_2611 profile image
Sara_2611 in reply tojillygirl

Hi Jillygirl I couldn't put a bowl over it because if it escapes while I'm holding the bowl & goes anywhere near me I'd drop it & break it so I prefer to capture them in my hoover +cover them all night to suffocate them so mum can get rid of it. I had the equivalent of fright night on Wednesday night I was confronted by 4 big ones

Sara how do you think you may have cancer. Just because 3 lots of antibiotics hasn’t cleared it. Have you had a sputum sample tested so you can be put on the right antibiotic.
