I find that a bit strange given when I spoke to my Doctor she told me I needed to have a blood test first & arranged it for 23/10, so I had to cancel that & asked the hospital to do this blood test at the initial appointment as this was necessary before a CT scan can be requested.- I wasnt expected their phone call until after my blood test on 23rd
So I took the hospital appointment anyway because its an early one -9am so dreading this because Im needlepobic & have to have as much distraction as possible so Im not thinking about it

Hi Jilly girl - The person who phoned me this morning said she spoke to one of the nurses on my behalf as all of the nurses were too busy in surgery to make a personal phone call & she told me I might not have to have an injection or CT scan - but time will tell whether I actually will or won't -but I'll prepare my arm with emla cream just in case as it takes a while to soak in & make the arm numb
Cheers Jill I'm playing everything by ear as it's only an initial consultation then they suddenly say I do need a scan then I ll get another date for ir
Good luck with your appointment. Try not to think about the blood test. Look away when it’s being done. I have regular blood test due to medication I take. And have to have a few attempts done. Due to my veins collapse or it just trickles out. x
Hi Sara,as jillygirl suggests don't watch. The way I handled needles/painful physio was to imagine Pegasus,(hence the avatar) I learn't how to call him clamber aboard and he would fly off away from pain etc. It takes a bit of practice but you can do it too.💖💪xx
I have hated needles all through my life, having said that, before my diabetes was diagnosed, I gave blood for about 25 years, when you get the needle on a regular basis, it becomes a way of life, so worry not. 👍😀 Xx
All the best Sara. Dont think about the needle, just look the other way, I am scared of needles too, so I just dont look, and try to keep myself distracted by thinking whatever I can think of at that time.. U will be fine. Cheers..
Yep I never look either, it’ll be over in a jiffy👍🏼
My only advice is drink lots of water as this helps before bloods, that’s what my Doc said. I’ll be thinking of ya. Let us know how you get on Sara💕🌻xx
