Good morning everyone, and welcome to all our new members.
For a change I thought we could see how many different benefits stopping smoking has done for the members on here. If we all post one and see how many we get at the end of today.
My benefit is breathe easier.

Morning Jillie
What a great idea.
One of the main benefits for me is being able to cuddle my lovely little grandson and him telling me "you smell nice nanna" xx
Morning
I can now walk into a meeting without wondering if I stink and my colleagues can smell it. Also, my teeth are getting whiter.
Good Morning, Good Afternoon and Good Evening and a very happy Monday to you all
This is a great idea JillyGirl, loving the benefits listed so far
Since I stopped in 1994, I have benefited in my career change! I decided that I wanted to help others in their efforts to quit the dreaded weed and so set up a self help support group in the local community which grew to what it is today The other biggest benefit aside from my own health is the friends that I have made along the way
Rozi, I bet you pick up pretty quick on others who smell now instead of worrying about yourself
Lenne, you're right - life doesn't revolve around smoking for you anymore but it is strange how easy it is to become nicotine slave isn't it?! Glad you like your Winner's Badge
BethJayne, that was one of my things too - not wanting to be a smelly, stinky Granny or Aunty - One of the reasons I try not to drink coffee too
My list could be endless, but mostly I smell better, I have my taste buds back, my teeth are whiter and not stained, can rush around without getting short of breath, and am able to treat myself every month with the money saved.
Hi there, I'm new too so feel now is as good a time as any to say hello! I've been smokefree almost two weeks now (minus one blip) and so far one of the small things I've been really enjoying is having hair that doesn't stink of smoke! I can still smell my shampoo a little bit which hasn't happened for YEARS so that's really nice. I go to a weekly evening smokefree group too which really helps, I think having support from people who know exactly what it's like makes all the difference. I'm also taking Champix which has helped with the physical addiction, just gotta kick those mental habits now (and they die hard eh?!)
Aup Yogyyy, its great to see you her gal and hello to you toooo.
A big well done to you for reaching nearly 2 weeks quit and yes it does help to talk to people who are going through or gone through, what you are going through erm, does that make sense We all know how hard it is to quit, if you have any questions about anything, then you come and shout eh
As for your hair smelling better, thats just the start gal
So your on champix, thats very good, but please please stick to the full course of eh cos I didnt and flippin crumpled gal Maybe try drinking more water, cos I tell you, it picks you up Exercise, is another one Try to keep busy doing something, if you havnt got any other smokers in your house, then get that flippin magic wand out of the cupboard and get spring cleaning then you will smell the difference
Yogyyy, good luck to you and please keep in touch with us eh
28 days now, I am chuffed. I notice that my hair smells nice now and that's great. The extra money is fabulous, over £83.00 a week just think of all the shoes I can buy and the extra holidays I can have (already booked 2).
Welcome welcome smokefreelife, glad you could join us. I am again like the tail end of the donkey here, usually last !! Anyway, great thread Jilly so I'm just going to state the obvious and say that my biggest benefit is that I'm richer. Not worrying about where my next £6.61was coming from to buy 20 cigs and knowing I needed that nicotine fix.Just feels great to be free of all of that.H x
