Well - just finished my night shift last night and have just woken up after my kip. Glad I did the shift - kept me occupied and had a few laughs with my colleague. So - this time tomorrow I should have a much bigger idea of what I'm dealing with - the Big C or something benign. Either way - the last few days have given me a lot to think about and its made me realise how kind people are, and how much they care. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best - I shall be so glad to know what I am dealing, with good or bad.
Ollie my cat is sat on my chair back 'preening' my hair and purring like a trooper - sounds like a tractor run riot!! I have uploaded a pic of him - a big fat ginger Tom!
I shall keep you guys posted as soon as I have some news and thanx for being so supportive during this absolute stinking time - still no fags but positively eating nicotine in various forms!! I think it is now 12 weeks since I stopped the cyanide cigs - but Emjay has now added me to the "wall of winners" .
Whatever the results tomorrow - I can feel a holiday coming on - desperately need some sun and relaxation - in a foreign country . . . Madeira is beckoning!!!

All the best for tomorrow Vee. I'll be thinking of you, we all will.
You have a fine boy there with Ollie! Just cuddling up to mny black and white boy here, so lovely, shifted from 'my place' on the sofa to his next to me without a murmur, as long as he gets his strokes.
Yep, you go book a holiday as soon as you can. Take a break from those shifts and get some guaranteed sunshine a rest and some fun.
Ollie has his own chip cat flap with access to fields at the back - my neighbours come in twice daily and play with him feed him and if they don't come when he wants them to he goes knocking on their door - despite two dogs living there (who are terrified of my cat!) He is spoiled rotten - I return the favour when they go away. they put the dogs in kennels, but I am a dab hand at feeding their guinea pigs, dagoo's(?) and bearded dragon. The dragon is by far the most challenging as he has to have live critters that make me squirm - errrrgh - I have been known to lose a cricket or two in the bedroom. However - when I do finally manage to get them in the cage - the crickets seem to think the safest place is to perch on the dragons head - which incidentally is true since he has a somewhat bewildered look and cant get at them. Still not my most enjoyable task!!

Aup Vee
Your Ollie is lovely gal a true man cat, my cat is a female called Monkey, she dosnt terrorise my neighbours dogs, she just sits on the fence and knows damn well they cant reach her
Ha ha, I would looooove to see you feed bearedy gal, especially if a cricket hopped off
Hey Vee, I hope everything goes ok tomorrow, and you've worried about nothing as the others have said, I will be thinkin of you tomorrow, no I flippin wont, cos I will be with you, in spirit, I will be lurkin on ya shoulder just in case you need help, you got that
Take care now Vee, and try to get some sleep tonight eh, I will be praying for you xxxx
Awwwww thanx for that will be looking for that monkey on my shoulder - will know its you jumpin up n down It will be great if all the worry is for nowt. Flippin Nora - its worn me out !!! So has Ollie - thinks he should be fed 24/7 - proper nag bag. He's too thick to sit on the fence - just goes straight for the jugular - poor dogs run off with their tails between their legs!!!
I used to have 2 cats and was lucky enough to get house/cat sitters and latterly reciprocals with the neighbours. I'd like to get another one or two but will probably have to go down the cattery route in the future.
I love the tale about the dragon and the crickets. If the dragon has to eat live crickets, do you have to feed the crickets too?
Eeeerm yes - but that was a voyage of discovery - didn't realise that until I found a couple of bodies - died of starvation. Quick education at the pet shop produced a new batch that I fed and nurtured t be fed to Dude the dragon, cost me a fortune that week!!! I did own up to the neighbours when they came back!!!
Ollie is gorgeous, he reminds me of my grans cat who used to have all the local dogs terrorised
It's a brill idea to have a holiday, just what you need
Hi Vee, hope everything goes OK tomorrow, will be thinking of you too. haha, I remember when my son had a tarantula spider as a pet! That had crickets for tea. They make such a racket and my son used to lose the odd one now and again, bleugh - cats and dogs are much more sensible pets.

Hey Vee, positive vibes are winging their way to you already xx
Your experience of working within the health field will hopefully have taught you how it may / may not be and as you say, you're now getting closer to finding out. You know we're all saying a prayer for you and we'll be waiting to hear from you tomorrow.
Just laughing about your cricket feeding story, I have African Pygmy Hedgehogs who I give mealworms or locusts to. One time a couple of years ago I had just the one hedgehog who I'd bought the locusts for. Well, he was petrified of them! They lived in the tub for months, I had to blinking well feed them as i felt cruel on them, in fact - i felt like I had about 10 pet locusts!
Big hugz and a mighty big presence from all of us (Quit Support and members - not hedgehogs and locusts!) at your appointment and any tests tomorrow
thanks emjay - the vibes are indeed working and the wonderful tales of other folks experiences with critters has had me in stitches - trust you to have pet locusts!! I rescued an enormous bumble be from inside a an Indian take away - they thought I had lost the plot and just gave me a ;plastic bag to collect it in. they would have killed it. anyway I did manage to get it in the bag and it flew to freedom. I'm sure it smiled at me when it flew off!!!! will be in touch tomorrow and hope it is something simple and solvable. will get on here as soon as I get back to give everyone the (good?) news XXX
