Had my hysterectomy plus anterior and posterior repair. All ok apart from discomfort on sitting down. I don’t think you have to worry about the operation. I went privately as I had had my prolapse for two years.

Hi last week I was lucky enough to have my op I’ve been on the list just under a year. I had a vaginal hysterectomy with an anterior repair. All went well I was in hospital two nights and have continued to recover well at home. I haven’t had too much pain and after the second day I only took paracetamol and that was only occasionally for the next three days. I think if when you get your date and you see your consultant the best thing you can do is follow all of the advice they give you both pre and post operation and that will give you the best outcome. In the meantime if you are in the UK and the operation is going to be on the NHS (mine was) I would call your consultant’s secretary and see where abouts you are on their list and see if they can give you an indication of when the procedure might be performed. Some trusts are further ahead with their elective surgery than others, I have been lucky getting in the list reasonably quickly. Good luck I’m sure it will be fine if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask
