Oh dear, I’m so sorry. Really is awful the way you have been treated. Is there anyway you could go private? I know it’s horrendously expensive but at least see a decent sympathetic gynae for a second opinion and maybe they can get a quicker referral. Or When you feel stronger maybe you should go back and confront the drs with how bad your quality of life is and also not sure how you make an official complaint? Sending some strong vibes, you must be feeling so despondent.
I'd go back to the NHS and ask for that 'error' to be taken into account. Maybe try the PALS service at your hospital who handle complaints, as that is so wrong.Write to your MP too - if they're a Tory this is partly down to their cost-cutting and they ought to be aware of the effect in real-life.
I waited 11 months even to see a consultant and then over a year to get an op date - by which time I'd moved to another county so would have had to start at the bottom of the list. Fortunately my pessary makes everything manageable so I'm surviving with that.
But this was only after ringing every two months and then going back to my GP who said he'd write to see if that would help.
Try to get someone to go with you if you go again, to remember what you want to ask as it's easy to forget. I'm afraid the medics can be a bit off-putting but you have to fight your corner otherwise you'll be trodden all over.
So unfair but stick to your guns - good luck!
You could ask to be put on the "cancellation list" where you could maybe get called at short notice. All my treatments were stopped due to covid and I really struggled with increase of pain. Like yourself I was due to see my consultant but kept getting cancelled. Unbeknown to me the "error" occurred that took me off the waiting list, sadly no one took ownership of the "error". I put in a complaint and and my GP contacted my consultant. Fortunately within a couple of months restarted my treatment.
What upset me was the hospital tried to blame me for cancellations. Put in a complaint but never got a reply.
Hope you get your treatment soon don't give up !!!
thankyou for your reply no none took ownership for the error im having like shooting pains in my body i can be siting and ill get a niggly shooting pain in my legs arms somine it can be my back i go cold and feel lightheaded just wounder is it the prolaspe causing all this
Terrible for you, women get treated very badly re gynae healthcare.
Some thing you do not need when you feel ill and so vulnerable.
There is abuse within the gynae services unfortunately that needs to be called out ASAP.
Jackie Doyle Price may be the MP interested in this type of poor service and attitude towards horrendously awful and damaging neglect. I am not sure if it is her though off top of my head, sorry
I'm so sorry for you ...could u poss go private or enquire I had mine done within weeks I know its not always poss but if you can't afford they prob do payment plan at spire ...just a thought I know it depends on where u live on waiting lists I'm blackpool north west xx
Oh no, that's awful for you.
Very rude consultant.
If you are in UK then contact your PALS service at your hospital, they may be able to help and find out what happened and why and push for you to go to top of list.
So very sorry for you and I hope you get to be able to resume a normal life asap
I’m so sorry, it’s so upsetting to be treated so badly. I know it’s probably the last thing you feel like doing, but like others have said, you should make an official complaint, perhaps ask for a second opinion, and get PALS involved. I found a strongly worded letter made my consultant (for a different issue) start treating me with respect. I also went to PALS although I didn’t go further with them as I achieved what I wanted with the letter. If you don’t stand up for yourself, no one else will. Good luck x
Sorry to hear about your predicament. Its clearly not acceptable. O would be going back to your GP. Same surgery different doctor and insist on proof of what was documented about your appointment and diagnosis and the correspondence between GP and consultant. He them to print it off whilst you're there (perhaps asking for the stars). Tell them you'll waiting in the waiting room til you get it. Take copies and proceed to send to consultant (preferably his/her superior). And ask for a viable explanation of this incompetence. Harsh I know. When went bk to GP (you know tears and frustration) never even looked to se if it had worsened. Like I wanted to get out my bits and bobs. I've no complaints regarding hospital. As another person advised you go to PALS. Private I asked to for hysterectomy but was advised not necessary (think they'd ne snatching your ha d for for your money. But this still set me.back £600. I went in the May had few pjysios, which is all what we already know. But in 3 months went for a bladder test within 2 days they had ne in for an ultrasound but now hv covid so hv to wait a couple of weeks. The urodynamics didn't seen to think was prolapse! He took out my ring. Its disheartening I know. Make a log of all your phonee from hereonin and get them to email you there replied. You'll never remember otherwise. Good luck.
Your doctor should help you to get to the top of the list now as you have waited so long through no fault of your own. Let them know how desperate you are. Don't be shy of any symptoms, they are all related and the doctors are aware of them.
I struggled through two years of lockdown without seeing anyone and somehow, once I spoke up, my doctor referred me to a private specialist within weeks, but the national health is paying! I had a pessary fitted for severe prolapse but quickly realised this was not the solution for me. I am now on the waiting list for an operation and should hear within 12 weeks, or sooner if a cancellation comes up.
I know health care is a bit of a lottery in different districts but I have put this on here to encourage others to speak up sooner and have some hope.
i wish you all the best for the future.
thankyou for your reply . im 100/per crnt sure its the bladder prolaspe that is making me fell unwell . i was fine untill this prolaspe came about. back in 2020 in march my prolase kept coming out and the doctor had to push it back in . twice then i had a pressy ring fitted . but im sure its the prolase that is making me feel very unwell like very tierd and weak and very light headed . i go like this when iv been on my feet a bout ahour . it seem like my hormone s . like a hormone inblance or a vitiman deficency . but i take vitimand3 600iu per day and b12 and mega fish oil every day. just feel like unwell in myself . day in day out.
I try not to stand for long periods of time and get very easily tired. I think subconsciously my brain is thinking about the situation all the time and this makes me tired. I like to go for a walk most days and then I allow myself to have a nap. I feel worse if I just sit around all day and a walk helps my mood.I hope you are going to contact your doctor again to see if you can get an earlier operation. You have waited long enough. All the best.
