Hysterectomy seems inevitable

My consultant diagnosed me with endometriosis adenomyosis and ashermans syndrome.

He wants me to have the zoladex

Implant for 6 months then hysterectomy planned afterwards.

Feeling defeated and it’s quite major surgery at 32.

Don’t know what I’m asking just maybe reassurance.

i am so sorry to hear you have to go through this. You have the right to a second opinion, though. Do not just stop at what 1 consultant said, especially if you are not happy with it. xx

Definitely get a second opinion and explore all avenues open to you. I had severe endometriosis resulting in a hysterectomy aged 26. I was fortunate that I had my two children at a young age so that was a blessing!!

When I was diagnosed there was little known about endometriosis and the general view was "it's just women's problems, so get on with it"!!!! That was in the eighties, fast forward and I'm now 57 and had 13surgeries due to complications .

I have adhesions on bowel, bladder, pelvis and abdomen, and recent diagnosis of levator-ani syndrome. I have also been struggling with dysfunctional bowel and bladder incontinence.

I wish looking back if I had known then what I know now I would never have had the surgery!!! Being knowledgeable and health aware is vital to decide what is the best option for you at this stage of your condition. I wish you good health and stay strong!!!

Hi, I may be way off base but something to consider. I have had a lot of pelvic problems and it seems I have trigger points in my Psoas muscles around the ribs. If you don’t already go to a chiropractor try one and see if you have trigger points. These trigger points can be in any pelvic muscle pulling on other organs and muscles causing chaos. Also, find a physiotherapist to look at your muscles before you have a hysterectomy. I am only spreading what I have learned and it has been 4 years .

When the psoas shortens on one side it can pull down on the pelvis to one side.

Zoladex (goserelin acetate) Implant 3.6 mg is a man-made form of a hormone used in men to treat symptoms of prostate cancer, and in women to treat breast cancer or endometriosis. Zoladex is also used in women to prepare the lining of the uterus for endometrial ablation (a surgery to correct abnormal uterine bleeding).

A hysterectomy is a Major operation, avoid it where possible, if a must insist on vaginal op or a Laparoscopy (I myself am still waiting for a laparoscopy investigation after 2 years post op pain due to a total hysterectomy for resolve -uterine bleeding & endo) I would get a second opinion, There are wonderful treatments out there now for uterine bleeding and endometriosis Best wishes
