Fibroid pain
Talk to your Dr. A hysterectomy could possible help
Hi. I also have fibroids and a family history of fibroids. My mother and grandmother both had hysterctomies at around your age because the fibroids became too large and hard to manage. They both didn't have any more issues after the surgery but it does take around 6 weeks to get back to normal after the surgery
I am 50 and have fibroids pain is awful and bleeding is horrendous doc asked me to consider the mirena coil but after researching it I would rather have the hysterectomy as the mirena I feel would put me back to square 1 with all the horrible side effect
Hi, I'm 50 years old and went through the menopause late 30s/early 40s. I went on hrt but in my late 40s i was diagnosed with fibroids and thickening of the lining of my womb. My Gyno recommended i either change my hrt or come of it all together. I was told that fibroids usually shrink after the menopause due to low oestrogen levels; so it made sense to me to stop hrt as hrt boosts oestrogen. Now I'm just hoping they hurry up and shrink and disappear and stop causing me problems. I have heard since, that there is medication available that can help relieve symptoms and even help shrink the fibroids; although i wasn't offered anything at the time. Might be worth you looking at your hrt and maybe the medication; to see if that helps your symptoms.
