I had ultrasound and they said I had Fibroid and will have to have more tests. Is this possible at my age 65 as I finished Menopause over 10 years ago.

FIBROID AT 65?
Yep very common, most women will have fibroids and ovarian cysts but just don't know about it until a scan shows them up. I'm 64 and have had both for years, my fibroid is now large but Gynae don't want to remove it.
Yes, I think women can have fibroids at any age, but after menopause they can shrink and disappear on their own, so they don't necessarily have to be removed.
Definitely possible. I had large and multiple fibroids found well after my menopause.
Thank you. I have looked everywhere on web for information and the consensus is that they shrink after menopause and as I am 12 years on was very worried.
That is really depressing, I was under the impression they shrunk after menopause, was hoping that would be the case with mine.
I wonder if they don’t shrink if our hormones are unbalanced?
i was thinking the same as you..are we keeping our estrogen longer and why..i understand theres a lot of growth hormones injected into the food chain..so could that be the answer..i know soya products are very high in estrogen..my gynnos tell me that mine have died and calcified..so thats not a problem..i wish they could tell me what is my pelvic pain problem..only 7 years waiting for a diagnosis..
That’s a thought, I am a vege so don’t ingest hormones through animal meats but I do use soya milk. I have been seeing a herbalist who has helped with my heavy painful periods and I was feeling optimistic until I read that about fibroids not going 😩. I hope you get a diagnosis and help soon x
I am still waiting for my test results to get back to the Doctor and have made an appointment for next Thursday in hope they will be there, I will post more after seeing my Doctor.
I am three years into menapause and they have found a fibroid. We are currently watching for three months and if it grows dr wants to remove. I already suffer from Pfd so am reluctant to remove unless absolutely necessary. Please post your results. Hope all goes well for you.
