My husband is 86 with well controlled diabetes and his legs are often like blocks of ice and extremely painful. Have tried Tramadol, Neurontin, Tylenol, Ibuprofen with little help. Baclofen does help when adding it to the above. Does anyone have this and know of the source or cause? I fear its damage to the small blood vessels from early years of uncontrolled diabetes. Does anything help?

I'm currently on Duloxetine 60mg (twice a day) for small fibre neuropathy in feet and hands, related to uncontrolled diabetes. This seems to take the edge off the pain, Otherwise I expect a specialist might also suggest gabapentin or pregabalin.
I get very cold feet and found that elevating my legs also offers some relief. Walking around also seems to offer relief. The small fibre neuropathy appears to be a lot worse in the cold weather so perhaps base layer thermal ski pants would be useful. I am looking to get something like this...
