For the past 4months I have been having painful feet,it started of with felt like there was a stone under my foot or a bone sticking out but could not see anything. Recently say about 3weeks am in agony the pain under my foot is burning, have pins and needles it goes numb and feels like it's on fire. I wear safety boots and thought it was them but am getting the pain when not at work now. I did say to my rummey nurse my feet are hurting but got no response.
I have to rest with my feet up as soon as I get home from work. I feel like there is no relief. Pain relief does not seem to be helping. I have memory foam insoles in my boots and have just sent for a gel for ball of my foot off the internet. Do you think doctors could help sort it out or will they say it's just your ra playing up?
Thanks for listening to me and sorry about the long message. Take care everyone. Carol. X

I had pain on the ball of my foot, gradually got worse, was like walking with a pebble in my shoe.Had insoles given to my by podiatrist but didn't work.Ended up having an ultra sound to be diagnosed with a Mortons Neuroma. I had it operated on in 2014 they cut away the nerve. It returned again this year so I had a revision mortons Neuroma done. Still have swellingbof fatty tissue inside ball of foot but have been told that will eventually go down.
I would mention it to your gp and get an ultra sound done.Good luck
Hi there are lots of things it could be so I would definitely speak to your doctor if only for your peace of mind. It's better to be safe than sorry after all. x
Hi, I have a very similar thing, but I have not got RA. I was diagnosed with plantar faciaitis? The underneath of my feet, though usually one foot at at time, becomes tight and inflamed and I cannot walk on it. GP referred me to a podiatry clinic where they showed be exercises to stretch calf/foot muscles which in turn stretch the heel cord underneath, which is the one that causes the pain. The 'contracture' of the underneath of the foot is very debilitating, but it does go eventually but comes back every few weeks. I too, ordered things off the internet to help, but I find stretching the best thing as I have relief after a short while.
Podiatrists are the experts in things below the knee, so see if you can self refer to one before you go to your GP, as that could cut out the middle man. If you can't self refer, as for a referral to a podiatrist from your GP.
