Hi, does any one else suffer with Restless Arms and Legs Syndrome? Mine started years ago now, just in my legs, but several years ago now, has affected my arms also. I have yet to find anything that helps, just wondered if anyone else suffers with this?

Hi: When I started taking Gabapentin for nerve pain, the quite bad RLS I had had for twenty years went within a week. Medically unexplained. But then what isn't. P.s. And it was on only a small dose.

I'm weaning off Morphine to go onto something else as advised by the pain clinic

Now I keep getting a few withdrawal symptoms on a night in bed and restless legs is one of them

To help with the pain I'm having amtriptilyn and was advised by my GP this was for restless legs - taking an extra one when I get the symptoms zaps the restlessness away and allows me to sleep

Hope this helps x

Hi Jayney61,

Could it be medication related? I suffered from the horrendous 'restless legs' 5 years ago. At that time I had been prescribed Omeprazole [following Pancreatitis]. Once I stopped the Omeprazole, the restless legs syndrome disappeared.

If not current medication related, I would see your GP and ask for something to control it.

Good luck and I wish you a happy and healthy 2017.

Have just signed up. Can anyone recommend a neurologist for RLS?

I have had restless legs for years, last year I decided to go on a caffeine free diet, not even chocolate also take one magnesium tablet every day, it has certainly helped, I do not want to take any strong medicine for it.

I too take omeprazole but when I came off them the RLS didn't change . My GP prescribed Pramepexole and it does work for me. I take it about 6.00pm each day although sometimes my RLS does start earlier. It is worse if I have to sit around for long periods. i.e. In the car or when visiting.
