My story thanks to Hatsheput.......

I am now 63yrs old and i was diagnosed with ra in 2002. It started in my right side with my fingers. All the pain or mst of the worst pain has been down that side. I thankfully still have my darling hubby and that darling is my carer as well and he does everything for me. He makes a mean Yorkshire pudding for Sunday lunch. He cooks, cleans, washes and irons. Not bad for a army veteran of 75yrs young. Its safe to say i love him to bits. I had a knee replacement 7yrs ago and ikept telling them it wasn't right and i had my good gp tell me flat out there was nothing wrong with it and he refused to refer me. We complained to the practice manager and she got us in to see another dr who did the refferal for us. In the first days of January we saw a knee surgeon and he took one look at my legs and said they have put a straight joint in a bent leg.In the May of that year he redid it for me saying it was a mess in there. He was very pleased with my progress as i was a determined lady i could have walked out of there.. Then last year i ad to have a lamenectomy on my lower back and was home the next day. I think the reason i recovered so wuick from the surgery was because i was taking aloe very njuice and bee pollen. Then this year i had knee surgery. More about that in a minute. Thats it for surgerys.

About 6-7yrs ago i was diagnosed with fibro and at times i can't tell which iis causing me the most pain. I also have oa and Sjorgens and have the tear duct cauterised so my eyes have more fluid in them to stop them drying out so much.

Well here we go, this year has been a shocker of a year. We went up north in the spring and ended up having to get a new scooter as mine packed up. Money we couldn't really afford, but we had to have it unfortunatley. Then we had the heatwave whiich made everything real bad. At the end of June i had my toes straightened and was in a boot for the whole of the heatwave and beyond. In August my darling hubby and daughter went to GP90 which was in France and Belguim. My dear friend came and stayed with me while they were away and we had as much fun as they did i am sure. Sitting in the garden enjoying the weather underneath the parasol.

Then at the end of September a flare hit and boy did it hit me hard. I don't think i cried so much in all my life i was in that much pain. Then i saw my new rheumy at the begining of October and he had me taken of hydroxy and sulpha as he said they weren't working and is putting me on a new drug(no i can't spell it) which i should get next month as long as my bloods and x-ray is ok.

Then we saw a dr about hubby as he was in so much pain. The lovely dr said you have a double hernia and i am refering yu straight away. Gave him a paper and we had to ring. He saw the dr about a week later who confirmed the hernia and after listening to him said i think you have polps. So last Tuesday i dropped him off. Picked him up later and he said they went in and theycould see he was still bunged up for want of a better word. He has to start another diet and medicine this week and he goes back on Friday to have the colonoscopy redone.

And here ends my story, sorry for it being so long,it could have been a lot longer, but i thought i wouldn't bore you anymore.xxxxxx

You will get through this latest set of troubles together I know it and your hubby looks fab on his photo and nothing like 75! 😁 I hope your new med brings much relief and more mobility as would be fantastic to leave some of the horrid pain behind. All of it !! .. but we know that may be too ambitious given the bods we have with RA 😑 but I'm walking in the country again and doing aqua exercises since Rituximab, but still with limitations but you know what? .. I'm delighted I'm doing it and thankful for what I can do rather then what I can't and I know you are the same but you've had a very rough patch and deserve more. I could weep about the knee replacement. However it was put right and thank goodness. You knew it wasn't right, I remember your posts saying so. Hope all goes well for your hubby. Gentle hugs to you both. xx😘😘

Dear Sylvi, I hope your journey with Baracitinib goes smoothly! You certainly deserve it! Putting myself in your shoes, I have to say wearing a boot during the summer would have been tough. Your recent flare sounds nasty. Hubby is a gem, you are very fortunate there! A straight joint in a bent leg??? My word! It sounds like something out of 'Carry on Doctor' comedy! I hope 2019 is better and kind to you both. Love - Suzie xxxxxx
