He got home around about six o'clock with George our son after getting stuck in traffic both ways. He had 14 polps taken out of his colon and he was rather sore by the time he got home last night. I was so busy yesterday driving to take my darling dil to work then to get my nails done, then to the village to drop the standard off for darling daughter as she is going to a military tattoo in Birmingham this weekend. Hubby can't go as he is not allowed to drive. He says at the moment he doesn#t feel to bad. After that i went to the Christmas fair in the village centre as it is a charity and i always support local things. Came home ready to take dh to hospital. Came home had a rest and then put some baubles on the rest between rests. I am glad he is over this now he can recover. I am a bit cross with our drs surgery as it took over 12mnths to get a refferal to the hospital. Different drs saw him one said he had piles as he could feel them (when in fact he had the polps that low down) one told him it was old age and you get a big tummy. It took a new dr to say he thought the hospital was a better place, she told him he had a double hernia which is going to be repaired after this colonoscopy is now finished. Now that surgery i am dreading.
Have a lovely weekend everyone. Soon be Christmas.xxxx

I’m glad you husband had his polyps sorted. It’s a real shame it took so long for a referral.
It sounds like you had a really busy day yesterday - you need to have a quieter day today. We’re off to our son and dil’s for a family lunch. We do it every year as a bit of a run up to Christmas. It’s always a bit manic - 9 adults, a 9 year old, 2 dogs and a cat!
Your poor hubby Sylvi what a flippin shame! Re the GP situ, I always go to different one's in my practice as some simply don't pick up on a problem or diagnose incorrectly. Better to have other opinions. I've been through that and won't let it happen again. The baubles can wait Sylvi. It's still only November. Just made ham and lentil soup, wish I could bring you and hubby some. Rest up both of you, tomorrow is another day! Xxx
Don't blame u for being cross. They shunt u around from doc to doc and it's dangerous as potentially life threatening issues are missed. Our family know only too well. My son in law aged over 38 passed away 2 years ago fm pancreatic cancer and as he was sent from doc to doc and backwards and forwards to hospital h3 somehow fell through the net as noone took responsibility for him and although he saw them . They times in 18 maths they only picked his tumour up 3 months before his death. So my advice is u must take responsibility for yourself and push non stop for the right care. Sorry about the rant but your post hit a nerve as I know how they mess up.
Apologies for all mistakes but I was annoyed so typed quickly.
He was 38 and saw docs 48 times in 18 months and they still missed it as noone took responsibility for his care. I need to add that this is no criticism of the care they give u once diagnosed. It is excellent but they mess about and waste precious time.
Cheylann, we all make mistakes and i thank you for being angry on my hubbys behalf. You have a job seeing your own dr it is now a big practice as two have gone into one. I am thankful that the dr. who did sent him to the hospital so quickly and we now wait to see what was going on as some of the polyps have been sent to labs to chack there is nothing bad going on. We saw that dr. in surgery after he had been once to the hospital and we thanked her very much and she was just glad he were being sorted. Now it is just the double hernia to sort out.xxxxxx
Always something! I've had a hernia repair and the pain of it is excrutiating. However a year later I'm fairly pain free and that huge bulge in my tum now nice and flat so guess what I went thru was worth it. As they say no pain no gain. Hope all is well with your husband.
