Good morning everyone and i hope you are all as well as you can be, i wish i could say i was as i saw the dr last night and to say i was in shock is a polite word to how i was last night when i left the drs.
I went to the drs in the morning to get the dressing changed on my toe and the nurse was shocked to see my leg so much she called the duty dr in to see my leg. Anyway he was useless took one look at my leg and said it was ok. When i told her about my balancing problems she told me to get to see a dr asap, she didn't say why and i just assumed it was to due to my diseases, not what was to come. Anyway Bob made the apt. for 4.45pm. So we came home until the apt. When we went back we had a wait of an hour and by the time i got to see the dr my leg was so painful and sore i wasn't at my best. Neither was the dr as we had words as i said i was ready to go home. To say he was off was a polite way of say he was mad. I usually joke with him, well i hit a nerve when i joked about him getting enough money. We had words he told me he was emergency dr and i told him i wasn't told that if i had i would have waited until to today( i wish i had if i had known) Anyway he said he was on the point of quitting his job because he can't see his family. Then he said what can he do for me and when i told him i had balance problems, well the first thing he did was sound my chest and he did that three times and he checked my oxygen levels before he diagnosed me with, WAIT for it, with a HEART MURMUR. Well i didn't see that coming. He sent me a message for a link to book a cardiologist apt. He has also booked me an apt to see someone in the surgery after we come back from our holiday.
We came home and i could hardly walk as my knee had swollen that much and all i could do was change into my pjs and sat in my recliner with my leg up until it was time for a bath. Then i sat i sat with Bob watching tv until it was time for bed. I have had breathing problems every time i am on my feet and i put that down to my Asthma not what the dr told me last night. Oh well another health problem i have to fight to keep going, i am not giving in i will keep going. I am a fighter and i will continue to fight. Have a lovely day everyone.xxxxxxx

Oh Sylvi , it never rains but it pours ! You keep fighting gal, you have your family and friends around to support. Stay positive for your holidays . You have all the appointments in place , it'll get sorted . All best wishes . Xx
I will do darling, mind you it is hard work getting to see a dr in the first place darling. I wish i hadn't bothered see a dr yesterday at all and had one today instead.xxxx
Oh Sylvi you are having a rotten time at the moment. But I hope you can relax a bit to enjoy your holiday. Now you have a diagnosis it can be further investigated and hopefully it will lead to health improvements for you. Xx
you poor thing, just one thing after another. I hope knee is starting to feel better with rest.
And hope not too long for cardiology appt. I have a heart murmur, had it for years and apart from not being able to run for the bus (😂🤣 as if! Haven’t done that for 20 years!) it doesn’t seem to be a problem. So hope your not a big issue either.
Can't get a hospital apt at my usual hospital and the other one in my area not until November. You can't make it up, I am waiting for the drs to ring me back. Now to add insult to injury my stairlift has packed up. I am waiting for the stairlift man to ring to tell how long he will be before he gets here today. SO at least that will be looked at today. xxxxx
It might be something or nothing so don’t worry to much but I think you need that leg looked at again. By now surely it would have healed. If I were you I’d ask to see the wound clinic nurse again and ask about manuka honey. My mum had maggots put on a leg ulcer in the hospital. It was a stubborn ulcer and the maggots healed it but she said they were itchy.
that’s what I got hit with so in the process of heart checks and now waiting for Papworth then lung clinic. It does hit you but was told organs are affected by RA so we need to be prepared for this🥰
my heart chap said he is never surprised with his Ta patients due meds and disease does not help the heart. My heart been fine then the ra consul did a yearly check and that’s when it all kicked off x
oh Sylvi what a time you’re having. That leg doesn’t sound good, make sure you keep getting them to check it. Try not to stress about the heart murmur, I’ve had one for donkeys years and it’s not got worse and doesn’t restrict me so I hope yours is the same too. 🤞🏻
Sorry to hear this Sylvi. I hope as HH said re hers that you don’t have a major problem re the murmur and that it’s something to be aware of and monitor but not a serious thing for you. 🙏🏻 xx
Hi dear! Wishing you the best! Rest your knee, ice will help, and hope you heal! All this nonsense in your life is not helping. Are they worried about infection?
Sorry to hear Sylvi. Both my mum and daughter have heart murmurs. They don’t have any issue from them. Try not to stress till you see the cardiologist. GPS are often quite blunt re their findings. I had one gp phone ne to tell me my HRCT showed I had pulmonary fibrosis, and that the usual life expectancy was 2-5yrs. Came as a bolt out of the blue. When I seen the expert she disputed the life expectancy saying it was outdated, and the fact mine was due to inflammatory arthritis, then hopefully my meds would help contain things. Then 7 months later had an appointment just before Xmas to say it wasn’t PF but scarring due to aspirating acid. Much as I was relieved, I was a little miffed at being left 7 months fearing the worst, and putting a bucket list together. I had a similar issue where the gp phoned to say I had an enlarged heart, stating it was serious. Yet when I seen cardiologist he said it was common in rheumatology patients, and very treatable, and he wasn’t too concerned. I now try not to stress with these panicked calls from my gp, and await the experts. At least now they know about it, it can be managed, and hopefully will reduce your risk of further falls. Enjoy your holiday. Best wishes Maureen 🤗
Darling i don't feel it this morning. I feel like crying and i am even considering cancelling the holiday in May. I won't make any decisions until after i have seen the nurse tomorrow. I am down the hospital this morning for a chest x-ray for my heart and an hour later for physio and i will see what he has to say about it. xxxx
Hopefully you will see someone who understands your position. If the doc can’t cope he she should go- it is not a prison sentence but chronic illness can almost be!
Well that was a bolt out of the blue. We know you’re a fighter sylvi and no doubt will sort this new glitch with a smile on your face. It’s a bummer that everything seems to come at once. Try not to stress about it coz that won’t help you I’m sure they’ll figure something out for you. Meanwhile if you can possibly manage it I’d go on that holiday and enjoy it as it will help the healing process of your bashed and bruised body. Chin up keep fighting. Keep us updated how you’re getting on.
It's one thing after another for you Sweetheart. I am so glad that you are a tough old bird and keep fighting. Also give my best wishes and admiration to Bob, who seems to be a rock in your life. Get better!!!!!!!
That's a lot going on. 😳 sounds like you've got it in hand with the appointments in the diary. Try to keep your holiday, a change of scenery and routine will be lovely for you. Stay strong 💪
Thank you all for your lovely comments, some made me laugh you know who are and i am so grateful for the support. To know i am not alone in having this heart murmur is helpful as i know where to come for advice. Thank you all again very much, xxxxx
