Hello Simbalianne09 , welcome to the forum and well done for getting through the first two days, despite the problems.

I quit using an ecig as well. I didn't get any metallic taste but I heard some people report and it and apparently it has something to do with a new coil. if this is the case it should go away after a few days. Another way you can get a bad taste is with an old coil (covered in gunk) but that shouldn't be the case after two days.

As far as the bad breath goes - what flavour are you using? I found the tobacco flavours left me with a clingy, not-too-pleasant taste in my mouth so I changed flavours and tried mint, menthol and the fruity flavours. My favourite was Green Tea Menthol, which I stuck with. Maybe try some fresher flavours?

I’m not getting the metal taste from the e-cigarette even though it’s an old coil but the metallic taste is when I swallow plus I’m using menthol anyway also awaiting to get paid to get my protank for my kik 03 as the glass tank and mouth piece broke so soon as I get it I’ll be going bk to my kik so at the moment I’m using my old blu pro but brought the tank for my blu pro but it doesn’t fit as they changed the screw bit so the new one doesn’t screw on to the battery so I would have to buy a whole new blu pro which I don’t want to do if I’m going to be ordering my kik airflow 03 tank and mouth piece on the twenty sixth of this month

Ah right, sorry, misunderstood. Don't suppose you have a gum infection by any chance? It would account for the metal taste (from bleeding) and the weird taste on the breath.

Might be but not sure I’ve found my other vapour that I got off the internet I found a new coil and put a new one in and filled it up I’ll see by the morning if I get that taste again in my mouth but having this other vapour taste so much menthol and it’s only 0.6mg and it’s well strong hope it works but still going to get a new airflow tank for my kik though thanks for the advice

Welcome Simbalianne09 to our community and congratulations on day 2 - well done :)

With regard the metallic taste and bad breath as Nozmo suggested it could be a gum infection. Have you gone to your dentist for a check-up recently? If not, will be a good idea to go as smoking masks so many things and dental issues is one of them.

I was unaware of this and only went to my dentist in August after being smoke free for almost 2 years at the time, hygienist put me on a course of prescribed mouth wash for a month as had mild gum disease, I thought the taste I had was due to giving up but she advised it was my gums, all sorted now.

We have had several members here complain of dental issues when they stop, so will be worth a trip to your dentist sooner rather than later if you can (I kept putting it off over the 2 years and resulted in root canal treatment on 2 teeth, fillings and an extraction, costing €600).

My sister is a hygienist so might speak to her and ask her to give me something for it

Awesome you are smoke free ..👍

Gum problems occur after quitting smoking .Check first with sister but in the mean time rinse with salty water 3 times a day ..and rinse once a week with peroxide .Stay quit !

Well done on two days, Simbalianne. My mouth got very dry while using an e-cig though not really a metal taste. I drank lots of water, which is helpful either way.

I had that too. Happy to say HAD. From what i read when we smoked, we also smoked our gums! Quitting didn't cause the problem it did unmask it though. I experinced that weird taste and then my gums bled but they quit. I got the old blue listerine and it helped after a few days.

Our bodies go through all these healings. I know it doesnt feel like it, but honestly thats what i think it is. Another read ( i was reading everything to figure this out!) was that while smoking we cut off circulation to our teeth so any gum disease wouldnt bleed. After quit circulation improves and where there may be damage from "smoking our gums" the healing of improved circulation shows in damaged areas.

I simply brushed more gently, quit flossing and used listerine and i believe it was a week when it stopped.

When quit listerine it came back so i'll keep using it. May go to an alcohol free one now.

Comgrats on your quit. You really have begun a great adventure of healing. It doesnt always feel good at first and then it gets better! Amazing how that works. Its a ride you'll never want to forget. Keep up the great work.

Glad you have a hygeinist in the fam. I had all my dental work completed directly before quit bc of that taste on a previous attempt.

hi Simbalianne09

sorry for late reply, just remembered how I got metal taste (or I think I did) have you got metal mouthpiece on e-sig.

most have plastic but some have metal.

do you have fillings,if yes both together can make the metal taste, its a bit like tin foil on fillings, leaves a nasty taste, metal taste.

if you have metal tip/mouthpiece swap it for plastic,

its sort a try

take care 😊

keep kicking 😁

I think so but I can’t change it but my new mouth piece and protank for my kik 3 should be here tomorrow or Friday then I’ll be using that but for now I have to use my other e-cigarette which I don’t really like I prefer my kik but cause I broke the glass on the tank and my mouth piece on the kik that’s why I had to get another e-cigarette which cost more money and I hate it and it’s also not as effective like my kik either it’s days 4 now but tomorrow will be day 5 so I’m doing well so far as I did used to smoke 20 a day which is really bad I know tell me about it not good but in the long run I’m saving myself so much more money I just can’t believe it
