Day 36 and still feeling rough!

So it's day 36 for me :) and although I'm pleased as punch I just wondered what others experiences have been with regards to feeling rough!! Ulcers still pop up on my tongue, my throat hurts on and off and my chest is up and down like a yoyo!!

I have no desire to return to smoking but I felt healthier when I did smoke πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Hey Kacoates34 - good to hear from you and glad you are plodding along nicely.

What you are feeling/experiencing is perfectly normal and will continue for some time (everyone is different) as your mind and body is working very hard to repair, recover and rewire. Patience is another trait we need in this quitting journey - I too thought I would be better off smoking again as felt rubbish, BUT I PROMISE, it does get better and improve, just take it day by day, lots of water, fruit and vegetables and a bit of a walk every day to clear the head, also, be kind to yourself, you deserve it - stay close to us, you really are doing brilliantly :)

Kacoates...Yes, that first few months is like a brother in Jale.."You know about him but you don't speak of him"....It is rough and very tough but hang on in there it is getting better...Nicotine deprived your body from all the important Vitamins ...A-Z...and you need to replenish.. It is very important to supplement these vitamins to assist your battered body to heal itself...It want to and that is the ulcers and sore throat popping out now....Speak to a good pharmacist and surely you will get the suitable supplements...Strongs !!

Thank you for the reassurance - I'm totally paranoid about health issues anyway lol! I think I'm just shocked at how ill having no nicotine can make you! I'm still not sleeping great and have really bad mood swings from time to time. I only did Champix for 4 weeks due to the crazy dreams so I guess part of it is the withdrawal as I'm now cold turkey? I've also puton a stone 😱😱😱 hence the swimming!! As hard as it is I will just suck it up as I never want to smoke again! Just seeing how proud my 2 young children are is worth every hacking cough, ulcer and razor blade throat!!

Thanks for your support guys 😘

Hi Kacoates, I am now week four and can best describe it as feeling like coming through a bad cold! I am dosing with vitamin c and getting lots of rest... Main thoughts are that my body is recovering and I will never go through nicotine withdrawal again as will never smoke again!!!! Hope the next week improves , you will look back and realise it is worth it, ! X
