A recovering alcoholic of 27yrs, following serious operation gave up smoking (17 weeks now) - all good signs except blood pressure significantly up?

welcome chrisrobinson and congrats on 17 weeks (can you just confirm your quit date for your milestone badges ;) ). Unfortunately, I have not come across a side effects high blood pressure especially at this stage of your quit, perhaps the first week or so as our circulation gets back to a non smoker. We tend to blame quitting on every aliment we encounter when we quit, perhaps a visit to your doctor for peace of mind on the high blood pressure - keep us updated on your progress :)

4th October was the day I was 'rushed' to hospital, and the day I stopped smoking even though I didn't know anything about it for 3 weeks!!

Hello and well done on getting this far.

I have to agree with Roisin01, you should get checked out at the doctor. 17 weeks is a major achievement so keep going strong. ☺

my blood pressure has gone down.its quite low 😒

I get dizzy moments.light headed 😁

you probably should ask doc why 😒

with drink and fags taken away 😈 may just be a side effect of stopping 😁

but keep at it 😁

hopefully one day you /we will feel better 😐

reading too many post getting mixed up 😁

I'm sleep deprived finally got to sleep 3ish but got woken up with son in shower 😒 (but was still in and out of sleep,no good sleep )

cant remember the last full night sleep 😒

Their early stuff was great - very heavy metal, on listening to it earlier, I can hear that Guns n Roses must have been very influenced and inspired by them..
