I manage ok through the week cos of work, different story on the weekends when i have more time to think and sit about around.
Someone please tell me it will get better i cant bear the thought of this on my mind forever....arggggggggg.

I think about this time is when the euphoria of quitting kind of wears off - don't be disheartened by the odd bad day. Years and years of smoking isn't going to be got over 'just like that'.

Stick with it, you know it is so worth it.
How strange looper, I'm on day 15 and just yesterday I was saying to my fellow quitter that the novelty of having stopped smoking is wearing off and that I need to find something else to focus on; I had the mother of all cravings yesterday  but somehow managed to avoid temptation (with a little help from my NRT patch and a walk round the block) and I know I don't want to go back to wheezing and coughing.
A lot of non smoking friends are frequently checking how i am doing, which helps to stop the novelty of having quit wear off. If they stop asking i will need to prompt them....
Even if the novelty does go (as it eventually must, the reasons for quitting and the objectives remain so very real).
Sorry, apologies for my rudeness too to the thread creator, sincere congratulations to Leanne to on getting to day 18! Day 19 was actually a fairly easy day for me compared to day 18.
my day 17 was awfull but since bad day 17 i have improved drastically so maybe its just a blip around that time things will get better honestly i never thought i would ever feel better considering how bad i felt somedays but i do and so will u

Hopefully Leanne's day 18 was your day 17 and my day 14 - hope that makes sense?
After 4 previous attempts (some serious, some not so serious) this time I'm just taking one day at a time.
Thankyou everyone for your helpful comments...i feel much better now.I do worry i will have many days feeling bad and just feel i am wishing my life away wanting to hurry to the next day then the next and so on.
i know wat u mean wen u say u feel u are wishing your life away i have thought this to through bad times especially as i only have 8 weeks maternity leave left before i have to return to work so i kick myself that i am wishing time away but it is getting easier bit by bit
Thanks Steve, you're absolutely right and I'm looking forward to the next 15 days
Hi everyone,
I'm pleased to say I've made it to 30 days cigarette free. That's 270 cigarettes not smoked, £87.75 still in my pocket (any suggestions as to what I should treat myself to?) and higher energy and enthusiasm levels.
Here's to the next 15/30 days. I hope things have improved for everyone.

A very happy Marilyn
Hi everyone, a quick update on the stats as I have now hit 45 days ,
so that's 405 cigarettes not smoked and £131.63 saved. Feeling a bit grotty today, sniffling, runny nose etc and although I didn't go through the coughing phase while my lungs were clearing out so I don't think it's necessarily related to stopping.
Anyway, that's it from me, and here's to the next 15 days.
Good luck everyone, I hope you are all feeling fine!
if I have down moments I try to perk myself up...be it a cup of tea, fruit, sweets (in moderation) or buying something small...it seems to have worked so far anyway!
