Hiya,

Not doing to bad on day 2. Missing smoking after cuppas. OH has quit with me, so theres nothing related to smoking lying around today, so it should be easier for us.

OH (ian) says hi to you all, I'm hoping he will join us as well.

Taking it one day at a time and 1 crave at a time.

Take care.

Anne.

Starting to feel a little bit yucky. Feeling the cold (like if I would be coming down with something), headache and feeling wearing. Does this sound familar or is it just one of those things?

Not been that bothered with cravings, I had some, but been working through them.

I'm doing well on day 1 today. I'm sure it helps having had only 2 smokes in the previous four days.. I can't wait for day 5.. So my posts won't be rehashed and will no longer remind me of the blips... Until then I plan to post in random forums like this instead of creating my own threads. Skateboarded 4 km to work, a good start to the weight loss regimen, doing it home also... went to the dentist and ordered teeth whitening haha.. It was a free promotion for new signups, so why not lol... Quick fix for the yellow nic on the teeth! There was an ovation at the office when the hygenists heard I was quitting smoking. Will feel good to let then know things are still good down the road. The getting a cold feeling is quite normal, as your body is adjusting to the higher levels of oxygen, flushing toxins and getting used to not having to deal with nicotine.. It will pass soon enough, just drink lots and rest up if it gets harsh. I've felt like I've had a super huge head full of pressure for a couple days...and want to sleep all the time.. Its different for everyone I guess. Good to see you are sticking with it! We will get through this! I joined the March Hares social group for fun as I like having a group name.. Makes me feel less alone I guess... Will talk to you soon, Vike

Thanks for that vikey, its a good thing what im experiencing then. My mind is at rest.

Wasn't sure when I should of been having these, but I thought it would of been after 3 days. Maybe its because, 3 or 4 days before quit day, I only had 3/4 ciggys a day. I dont know. Main thing is nico is going... yipee.

Well done on your day 1. Like you say, one day at a time, day 5 will come soon anoth.

Take care.

Snugsie

Well done Snugsie the early days are the hardest. I was admitted to hospital late January for a day and a half, with a suspected heart attack and seriously advised to stop smoking. I had been a very heavy smoker for some 41/42 years and until today have been 53/54 days nicotine free with the aid of patchs. I also enrolled on a smoking cessation course which I found very helpful.

As an aside I spent about 3 years in your home town in late sixties when the Giro Centre in Bootle was being built and incidentally a non-smoker with no desire whatsoever to smoke. Paid a flying visit to Southport last summer staying at The Alexander & Victoria on the prom before taking my nephew from Australia to Anfield for a guided tour. For some reason or other he's been Liverpool mad since he was kid so his visit to Anfield was the highlight of his visit to the U.K.

What was your spur to quit?

Hi micheal, hope you are well. Sorry about delay in answering.

My spur was my cat, hes been diagonosed with cat flu and complications. Because hes a mummys boy, I dont want nothing to hurt his health any further. Plus, of course there is money, my health.

Have you tried the restuarant in the alexander and victoria pub, the dinig rooms? Really good value and quality for money. Its my favourite place to go.

Let me know next time, you come visiting , partner and I could meet up with you. We only live 10 mins from town centre. My partner, Ian is a liverpool fan, like your nephew.

Take care,
