Hello! It's day 6 for me

I am new to the forum. I stopped 6 days ago after smoking on and off for 24 years. I am going cold turkey rather than NRT. I have tried NRT in the past but it didn't suit me.

I have been feeling quite good. I have been eating loads of fruit and veg, drinking lots of water and drinking green tea instead of coffee. I dusted off my gym card and have been going to the gym. In my head I very positive. My husband is still smoking but I am hoping that if my success continues, it will inspire him to quit.

Today I I am a bit sniffly and can feel the gunge on my chest on the move. It's not very pleasant but to be expected.

I don't have time to go to a group so I was pleased to find such an active forum. I will be popping in a lot just to help keep me focused on staying free!

Hi Ellie C and welcome to the forum.

Well done on day 6 very nearly a whole week done and dusted. I also went CT as I felt it was the only way. Sounds like you really have your head in the right place, there will be loads of people along later with links in their signitures, read as much of the links as you can it will help you to maintain that positive outlook.

Good to have you on board post often to let us know how you are getting on, and maybe your OH will also decide to join us!

Hello there - and welcome to the forum. Firstly 6 days CT is brilliant - so well done!!

I went cold turkey - but as you can see for very differnet reasons. You seem well aware of whats ahead of you.

All I would like to say is that whatever you're feeling come here and read the posts. I am now 21 weeks quit and feel great - hardly ever think of cigs, very minor craves now and again. It has been the best thing I've done.

Other will be along shortly I would think with further advice. This board was invaluable to me - I hope it helps you.
