I am 76 years of age and due to insomniia, i was put on lmg Lorazepam at night. I have moved and my new Doctor told me to stop the Lorazepam and take a Diazepam if I couldn´t sleep. I was in a terrible state , what i now know was withdrawal symptoms. I literaly lost four days, just dont remeber them. On the fourth day my husband took me to emergeny because my blood pressure went to 175, (normally 120 - 122), when I got to the medical centre it was 190. They got my pressure down and trying to keep this as short as possible, have now changed doctors. She has reinstated Lorazepam, with the intention of eventualy, gradually coming off of it altogether. She has put me on Stretaline 50mg, (never been on antidepressants before but am in a state and feel I need something). Have been on them for 4 weeks but feel awful, anxiety attacks all of the time, nausea and worse of all I am shaking all of the time. I am due to see the Doctor in twoo weeks but for the last two days I have halved the tablet. I feel slightly better but far from well. Any advice would be welcome.
