I feel within myself that there's something wrong with me. I don't know how to explain it propperly which is why i haven't gone anywhere, that aswell as not wanting to tell anyone around me. If i did say anything or go see someone im scared i wouldn't be taken seriously. I feel like there's something in me missing, and i sometimes get really down or just numb. Is this normal, maybe it is but i just wanted to at least try and get some answer. I can often feel like im not good enough and i have a problem with my weight. I feel i eat too much and look overweight, despite being the lower end of average weight for my height. Maybe im just insecure like everyone else and its built up but i can't shake the feeling that deep down im different and there's something wrong, i just wish i could work out what it is.

I Don't Know Whats's Wrong With Me
It is important Beth if you are the correct weight and are worried you are overweight you see your GP and explain your irrational fear and the fact, in yourself you are feeling low and anxious.
Make a list of your worries etc, that will help you explain your needs. Make that appointment

i dont want to worry my parents by asking them to take me to see anyone, i wouldnt even know how to bring it up.
I'll try the list though maybe itll help me build up courage. Thanku
hi please talk to your parents they will bend over backwards to help you im sure.i guarantee after it you will feel better having got it out.you can do it I know you can.
How old are you Beth ?
If you are sixteen you can visit the Doctor as and when needed, your Parents need not go with you
If you are under sixteen we are not supposed to advise, although in this case phone or go to the GP Surgery and some do have special Clinics for young people. However it may be an idea to take your Mam with you. Remember your Parents may show concern although if their Daughter is not well or worried regards Her health they should be able to be there for you and take you to the Surgery.
Our Surgery had a special surgery and teens can e mail the surgery and make an appointment. Go on their web page

i'm 16, i'm scared to go on my own because i wouldn't know what to say and i don't want to face it on my own but i don't want to worry anyone around me, i guess i just need to build up my own courage, thankyou loads
The greater worry to you should be getting help for your own health. It is no good being afraid to see your GP, He/She is in partnership with you when it comes to health concerns you present to Surgery.
You have to consider your needs and your Parents should feel concerned if they feel if you are unable approach them.
There is nothing wrong in taking someone with you, if you feel more settled doing it that way. I am a Pensioner and my Wife normally attends hospital and doctors appointments with me and that works well for me and my memory concerns. It helps me relate and explain my needs to my Doctor or Health Professional.
Nothing negative will happen, make that appointment, write a list of any questions you need to ask, this will help you get more out of your appointment, and it will prevent you forgetting anything you need to say.
Let us know how you get on
