Hi I am a 50year old female, come to a full stop in my life at the moment and just want to Scream, just got over a week of gastronetitis and although I should be feeling better, i just can't get up and do anything

Hello mel, welcome to our supportive community. Gastroenteritis is nasty, and it will take time for your body to fully recover as your immune system has taken a knock. Be aware that your electrolytes will have been imbalanced with diarrhoea and vomiting, and this may affect the effectiveness of your regular medication. So keep some oral rehydration salts at home to help with this. Feel low mood after illness is not uncommon too, so may exacerbate your MH symptoms. I include a link to the UK NHS website re. I’m sorry your going through a hard time. While my mum never had gastronetitis she has had a lot of medical problems that can relate and she had a hard time getting back to her old self. If you want to know somethings she did just let me know.
