Hi does anyone receive pip for depression and anxiety. Having these issues is effecting my ability to work and a number of other things due to having this crippling illness. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your response nothing to loose I guess tried in the past but for other conditions my mental health has declined dramatically the past year. I will make sure I get help this time around with the forms.

I needed help that bad I ended up having a breakdown and told health workers what was going on with me, was put in a psych unit for few weeks, had too. Hope you manage to get things sorted before you feel like I did, and if you ever do, phone a crisis team, doesn't take ages, maybe couple/few hrs, but at least when you get the ball rolling, there's help at hand on it's way. It took me a while before I reached out/ well broke down really, don't leave it as long as I did if your suffering. Good luck and good mental health to you.😊

Thanks for your reply. Sorry to hear you've experienced bad mental health to. It's debilitating at times isn't it. I can hardly leave my home and feel like I've literally shut down physically and mentally. Years of feeling this way and now feel I have nothing left in me anymore. A family issue has contributed to my mental health I really don't cope with any upset or stress well. I have an appointment next week to see a mental health nurse at my gp practise. Thanks for your kind words, hope your in a better place sending hugs x

Hi I've just gone through pip for my son who suffers from anxiety and depression and possible autism we sent in everything we had and because my son has trouble expressing his feelings there's no real evidence of anything according to pip so my son was refused pip but he was awarded the highest rate of universal credit due to his mental health issues

The universal credit mental health form is alot worse than the pip form as it did cause my son to have a meltdown and end up in hospital but it is more informative than the pip one so might I suggest you trying for universal credit higher rate for your anxiety and depression and then trying to go for pip.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your reply. Sorry to hear it got to much for your Son its such a stressfull process. I'm actually on the waiting list for suspected adult Autism. That's really helpful information, never new you could apply to universal credit for mental health issues. I'm currently on ESA in the support group. I will definitely look in to it 😊

I'm on ESA for epilepsy do you receive the server disability premium I think you get it for being on ESA and pip but not having a carer that would be better than universal credit as it's a bigger amount I lost my premium when my son moved in and I'm down about 400 a month where my son only got a 300 pound raise

I'm not no think as you said you have to be on pip to receive the sdp on top.

Yeah might be worth doing pip if on ESA make sure you have plenty of medical evidence of your health issues and what your worst days are like and how thay affect your day to day cooking, eating, drinking, dressing, bathing, reading, writing, bathroom,ect.... There faster now with forms about 3 months and you have a answer

Thank you, I'm going to contact citizens advice to get help with the forms.
