I have been on Lexapro for more than 10 years, I am a 50 years old woman, I have been fine but the last few months I am really miserable, I am taking vitamins, hormones. I am very scared of having to change antidepressant. Anyone had their medication stopped working ?

Need advise from people who have been using antidepressants long term
I've been taking antidepressants for 10 years if you consider that long term. I started taking it when I was around 13 years old and I started off with lexipro. That didn't work too well so I started taking sertraline 6 years ago. I started with a high dose so it worked very well for years but starting this year I feel like its not working anymore. Maybe because my dose is very low now at 25 mg and the first time I took it was about 150 mg. I've been on the 25 mg for about 2 years now. And my anxiety and depression has been coming back on and off this year and its been especially bad the past couple months. But I refuse to raise my dose because I want to start coming off the medication. I don't want to rely on it forever. But yea to answer your question, its not really working right now and I don't know why I'm even taking it.
I’m not a doctor this isn’t advice!
I’ve been on sertraline for 13 years and am recently going through a marriage breakdown. I was starting to question my sanity with things my husband was saying so I (not sensibly) decided to stop 100mil over night and 50 mil 2 weeks later.
It definitely affected me and I did cold turkey for a day or 2 but actually feel clearer headed off them. Obviously you should chat with your doc unlike me but I personally feel better off them.. Good luck
