Some help
Hi jorna. Your GP wont make you have therapy if you say you don't think it'll be helpful (apart from anything else, there's not a lot of funding). Defintely go and make an appointment! Good luck.
Hi Jorna
It may be a good idea to visit your GP and tell him how you feel completely! There is often waiting lists for therapy, he can't force you to have therapy if that's not what you want!
Tell him you feel you need something to get you through each day & from day to day! You have to tell him how bad it is though! Be open & honest about any thoughts or feelings you may be having currently and what you feel might be helpful for you to start seeing a light at the end of your tunnel!! What have you got to lose? Go for it, tell him how you really feel & the help you feel you want & need!!
Good Luck to You Warm Wishes spykey 🤗
Jorna, don't be afraid. Going to the GP is for you. Let it be a gift to yourself to feel better. If you get anxious as you go to the appointnent, post it here while you're waiting. We can talk you through.
Good advice in the other replies and I would only add why not at least try any therapy offered ? If of no help you don't have to continue but you may well get a more effective therapist and therapy in the future.

Anything that helps is good
Don't be afraid of visiting your GP. If he's someone you feel you can trust let him know how you feel. He'll probably know several different ways to help you.
What's the reason you feel so anxious? Do you want to share it here?
Hi Jorna
No one can make you do anything you dont want to do. I told my GP that I was not prepared to wait 6 months or more for counselling and I needed something now. She gave me anti depressants which are starting to work. They are not an instant fix but they will work in time. You know what you need , dont be afraid to say. You may choose to have counselling in the future if you want but its up to you. Good luck.
you don't have to go to therapy but maybe they missed something the last time at least if you talk to gp its another step and feeling as if you have no one and isolated is a lonely bad place you always have this place . I know its not the same as the physical contact you need but its still here
