I am just a 29 yo M, looking for some high yield advice for staying on top of my men's health, and for improving my self confidence.
I played competitive soccer until 18 yo, now I am a graduate student and not exercising weekly. I am eating healthy, but have failed to gain muscle mass in the past, feeling like an ectomorph. I would like to increase my muscle mass for aesthetic purposes.
5'10"; BMI 22;
PMH:
bipolar II disorder, receding hairline, thinning hair
FHx:
CVD on my paternal side, along with HTN, HLD, MIs in early 40s
Hi bp444I wouldn't worry about what has gone before in previous generations, worrying won't help and it's not in any way a given that those things carry on.
The question is, if you want to build muscle do you exercise to do so? It is the only way. You have a good BMI so although eating healthily can mean many things, some of which are actually healthy(!) It looks like you have that under control (well done). I think I'd keep up the diet and up the strength work.
(You have to keep the diet going as you don't really lose weight by exercising).
