Scrotal Nerve Block - What to expect

I've had significant left sided testicular pain for years. I've been in an endless loop of treatment at my Urologist's office. He prescribes Celebrex and antibiotics. At the end of the antibiotic treatment I'm finally pain free for a week or two. I asked him about a scrotal nerve block. He doesn't do them but suggested I find a pain management doctor.

I'm wondering if anyone else on the forum has had this done. I'm wondering what to expect.

I didn't, I had a scrotal ultrasound and it confirmed an indirect inguinal hernia, vericole and a small epididymal cyst. I had the hernia surgery yesterday as the urologist suggested as the first step.
