Hi everyone.. I have a problem with an acne on my back for my whole life. It is kind of embarrassing.. at the swimming pool, massage etc. I think I have tried already everything.. Past few days I have been looking for some more informations and I found something like DNA derma test. This test should tell me a bit more about my skin, based on my genetic predispositions. Maybe gives me some advices how to avoid these irritant red spots on my back.. Have you ever been thinking to try something like that? Thanks for your responces..

Acne on my back
I think this sounds like a bogus quasi medical test with no basis in science. Have you seen a dermatologist ?
hey.. I have seen a dermatologist, but it did not help me out to much.. when I checked the web site of these tests, it seemed to me quite real, meaningful.. that is why I am looking for somebody who has an experience with this test already and can give me some advice
So - this is a website/test which is actually a DNA analysis website to look at your genetic likelihood of developing certain skin disorders eg psoriasis vitiligo etc. There is also an acne predisposition test. However apart from some general advice like " wear high SPF if going out in the sun " "avoid food that irritate your skin " I cant find anything on the website that actually states what their "tailor-made skin care routine " actually is. I would email them first to ask. You know you have acne - you don't need a genetic test for that. You want to ask how the interpret your DNA to come up with some specific skin care. Remember they don't have a magic cure, they most likely will advise lifestyle measures and possibly medication - which is already out there.
It seems to me you have looked on the same website as I did.. was it Chromozoom? I have been told that the test offers plenty practical skincare advice all based on my genes... so I think I may give a try.. Will let you know about the results in 6 weeks
